Cryptocurrency has proven to be an enabling force for financial service transformation. It allows users to perform transactions via blockchain technology that bypasses the involvement of conventional financial intermediaries. In local context, the acceptance of cryptocurrency is rather low as compared with other developed countries. The requirement of large consumer market base is the main challenges for cryptocurrencyâs adoption. Thus, the aim of this study is to determine the relationship between output quality, perceived accessibility, result demonstrability and perceived security and adoption behavior of cryptocurrency as an additional mode of internet/online transaction methods. The data was collected from a sample of 553 respondents from different age groups ranging from under 21 to over 60 years old. The PLS-SEM results demonstrated that there are significant positive relationships between output quality, result demonstrability and perceived security and the usersâ adoption behavior to use cryptocurrency. The paper provides an insight for explaining the adoption behavior of cryptocurrency. The findings are insightful to develop effective financial management mechanisms and interventions, which is important to enhance the confidence and understanding level toward the adoption of cryptocurrencies among existing and potential users. Tujuan kajian ini adalah untuk menentukan hubungan antara kualiti output, persepsi terhadap kebolehcapaian, keterlihatan hasil dan persepsi terhadap keselamatan dan tingkah laku penerimagunaan kriptowang sebagai kaedah tambahan bagi transaksi internet / dalam talian. Data telah dikumpulkan dari sampel yang terdiri daripada 553 orang responden dari pelbagai golongan umur dari umur 21 tahun ke bawah hingga umur 60 tahun ke atas. Hasil anĂĄlisis PLS-SEM menunjukkan bahawa terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara pemboleh ubah tak bersandar, iaitu, kualiti output, keterlihatan hasil dan persepsi terhadap keselamatan dengan pemboleh ubah bersandar (iaitu, tingkah laku penerimagunaan kriptowang). Kertas kajian ini memberikan pemahaman tentang tingkah laku penerimaan kriptowang. Hasil kajian ini adalah berguna untuk mengembangkan mekanisme dan intervensi pengurusan kewangan yang berkesan, yang mana adalah penting untuk meningkatkan tahap keyakinan dan pemahaman terhadap penerimagunaan kriptowang di kalangan pengguna yang sedia ada dan berpotensi. Abstract: Objective- To conceptualize a system using a fusion of Blockchain and IoT to keep track of deforestation and related activities and maintain a distributed public ledger of the same. Methods-IoT network detects deforestation or related activities using extrapolation of data generated, and thus updating the Blockchain with the same. It will create a public ledger with all the information related to the region wherein the system is deployed. Concerned authorities would be apprised, and commensurate action would be taken in case some illicit activity is detected by the central node of the IoT module. Novelty-Novelty lies within the program, which would use the data generated by the IoT module, use it to infer the activities, initiate response actions and update the data on the Blockchain.
In Malaysia, over RM 800 million transactions were processed in one cryptocurrency platform. The central bank of Malaysia has made e-payment one of its top targets to execute a cashless payment system. However, an in-depth analysis of the literature shows a dearth of research focusing on the influencers of cryptocurrency mobile wallet acceptance, especially the intention to use them continuously. Therefore, this study uses the Post-Acceptance Model of IS Continuance to determine the elements influencing the continuance intention of cryptocurrency mobile wallets in Malaysia. This research also investigates the impact of perceived security, effort expectations, and social influence on the intention to continue the usage of cryptocurrency mobile wallets. The empirical evidence from 106 current cryptocurrency respondents shows that: (1) perceived security and satisfaction are significant factors of continuance intention, and (2) performance expectancy, effort expectancy, and social influence are insignificant factors of continuance intention. It reveals perceived security as one of the critical elements in continuance intention in the cryptocurrency field.
The purpose of this paper was to propose a model that examined a study adopting the technology acceptance model with additional constructs (i.e., innovativeness) and the mediating role of attitude and perceived risk to use the cryptocurrency platform in Thailand. The data were collected through a questionnaire-based survey (456 usable responses) from consumers in Thailand. A two-step SEM approach (i.e., a measurement model and a structural model) was used to analyze the data. The findings showed a significant positive influence of perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, innovativeness, attitude, perceived risk, and cryptocurrency platform adoption. Moreover, attitude mediated the relationship between perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, innovativeness, and cryptocurrency platform adoption. Overall, our results showed that the model of perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, and innovativeness explained 62.9% of the variance in the intention to use the cryptocurrency platform in Thailand. Our study has contributed to the technology acceptance model and highlighted its effectiveness in explaining the adoption of the cryptocurrency platform in Thailand.
With non-fungible tokens (NFT) bringing fundamental change to digital business models, advanced opportunities for boosting customer engagement have opened. This paper discusses the functions of NFTs in offering brands ways to create more intimate relationships between consumers and brands and providing the consumers ownership of valuable, unique digital assets. Based on the case data and market information assessment up to August 2022, the current paper assesses how brands incorporate NFTs into loyalty programs and long-term customer engagement. A comparative analysis of models and a year-by-year trend shows that NFTs' impact continually overshadows the traditional approach. Based on the findings, technology adoption and market fluctuations remain issues. Still, NFTs offer a new outlook to businesses where a customer experience-oriented paradigm shift occurs, allowing brands to create deeper connections with consumers and increase customer lifetime value.
Blockchain technology has been identified as a possible solution to address critical challenges faced by the food sector. Building on the potential of Blockchain within Food Supply Chains (FSC), this study aims to develop an evidence-based implementation model for Blockchain in the food industry. Innovation Adoption and other prominent theories are integrated to first develop a conceptual framework, which is later validated following an analysis of the qualitative data. Fifteen semi-structured expert interviews are used to develop an evidence-driven, applied model for implementing Blockchain; providing detailed insights into typical stages, associated activities, and contextual determinants needed for successful integration. An empirically validated implementation model advances the extant academic literature and further provides a detailed roadmap for food practitioners, while initiating Blockchain projects with their firms and/or supply chains.
The use of Blockchain is becoming a matter of increasing importance, yet the software development industry has not given Blockchain adoption enough consideration. As a result of their inability to modify their software process within the project life cycle, many software development companies struggle to [adopt Blockchain technology. This is because Blockchain Oriented Software (BOS) and its projects have distinctive characteristics that are distinct from traditional software and projects. The constructs and their items to adopt Blockchain in Software development industry have not been identified or investigated. This study aimed to identify technological, organizational, and environmental constructs and their items to adopt Blockchain. Utilizing a quantitative validation approach, 10 interviews and 25 assessment questionnaires were analyzed. The results reveal the identified technological, organizational, and environmental constructs and their items to adopt Blockchain. Experts unanimously agreed with Content Validity Ratio (CVR) results. According to most evaluation questionnaire forms and interview transcripts, the top technological construct was âTrialabilityâ and the top organizational construct was âCostâ while the top environmental construct was âMarket Dynamics.â All other constructs and their items were applicable, as indicated by most evaluation questionnaire forms and interview transcripts. This research gives a comprehensive list of technological, organizational, and environmental constructs and their items that demand the attention of Blockchain adoption researchers and industry players in the software development sector.
Blockchain (BCT) is an emerging technology that promises many benefits for organizations, for instance, disintermediation, data security, data transparency, a single version of the truth, and trust among trading partners. Despite its multiple benefits, the adoption rate of BCT among organizations has not reached a significantly high level worldwide, thus requiring further research in this space. The present study addresses this issue in the Australian context. There is a knowledge gap in what specific factors, among the plethora of factors reported in the extant literature, affect the organizational adoption of BCT in Australia. To fill this gap, the study uses the qualitative interpretative research approach along with the technology-organization-environment (TOE) framework as a theoretical lens. The data was mainly drawn from the literature review and semi-structured interviews of the decision-makers and senior IT people from the BCT adopter and potential adopter organizations in Australia. According to the findings, perceived information transparency, perceived risks, organization innovativeness, organization learning capability, standards uncertainty, and competition intensity influence organizational adoption of BCT in Australia. These factors are exclusively identified in this study. The study also validates the influence of perceived benefits and perceived compatibility on BCT adoption that are reported in the past studies. Practically, these findings are helpful for the Australian government and public and private organizations to develop better policies and make informed decisions for the organizational adoption of BCT. The findings would guide decision-makers to think about the adoption of BCT strategically. The study also has theoretical implications explained in the discussion section.

This paper aims to investigate the impact of blockchain application on trust levels in supply chains. Through the systematic review of the relevant literature, three dimensions of trust, i.e., the trustor-trustee perspective, forms of trust, and time orientation, are investigated. Our findings show that, first, there are three pairs of trustors and trustees involved in blockchain implementation: (a) the user and the blockchain, (b) two supply chain partners, and (c) the consumer/public and a supply chain unit. Second, the two forms of trust, namely cognition-based and institution-based trust, are likely to be enhanced by blockchain execution, while affect-based trust may not be directly impacted by the technology. Third, the presence of blockchain technology would facilitate swift trust-building between unknown supply chain partners under specific circumstances. Moreover, we also find contradicting assertions among scholars on the implications of blockchain for trust in supply chains. While some studies pointed out that blockchain will enable a trustless trusted scheme, others expected the reinforcement of interorganizational trust. To test these assertions, we develop the blockchain-entrusted supply chain models to present the three-step process of how trust is developed through the blockchain and diffused to supply chain partners and external stakeholders. Cryptocurrency is a digital or virtual currency that is guaranteed by cryptography along with the emergence of cryptocurrency, the emergence of NFT is also widely discussed, NFT is referred to as a digital asset in the form of works of art or collectibles such as photos, pictures, videos, games and so on. Currently, cryptocurrency-based NFT games are being discussed as a transaction method, with the emergence of this transaction method reaping many pros and cons. To be able to find out the acceptance and use of Cryptocurrency methods in this NFT game. UTAUT is used as a research model UTAUT is a model to explain user behavior toward information technology. UTAUT is formulated with 4 core determinants of intention and usage, namely performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, & facilitating conditions. This study used a questionnaire for sampling and obtained 244 respondents who had used the cryptocurrency transaction method in this NFT game. This study aims to prove the effect of independent variables (Performance Expectations, Effort Expectations, Social Influence, Perceived Risk, Trust, Facilitation Conditions) on the dependent variable (Behavioral Intentions and Usage Behavior). The results showed that there were positive and negative effects. Performance Expectations, Effort Expectations, Social Influences, Risks, and Facilitation Conditions have a positive and significant impact on Behavioral Intentions. Meanwhile, the Trust variable does not effect on Behavioral intentions, and Behavioral intentions have a positive effect on user behavior
Autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) use decentralized, AI-driven decision-making processes to providing material handling capabilities in industrial settings. Essay 1 examines how firms organize and engage to mitigate uncertainty during external technology integration (ETI), using an abductive approach with dyadic customer-supplier data to extend prior ETI models by exploring firm engagement, organizational adaptation, and distinct uncertainty types in AMR ETI projects. Essay 2 applies a grounded theory approach to examine AMR integration, using constant comparison and theoretical sampling to develop core categories explaining how suppliers, customers, and users exchange knowledge impacting AMR integration and project performance. Finally, Essay 3 is a conceptual paper examining the importance of end-user adoption by integrating ETI and technology acceptance model (TAM) frameworks, exploring important relationships between managerial interventions, cognitive constructs, user acceptance, and project success in AMR ETIs. As a whole, these essays contribute to the body of knowledge by extending the breadth and depth of current ETI models, emerging a substantive theory of AMR AIU, and extending TAM by grounding managerial interventions and individual cognitive constructs in an AMR context. Managers can use these frameworks to differentiate AMRs and other autonomous collaborative technology from traditional automation, and develop strategies enabling timely and effective AMR implementation.
Without the need for third-party authorization, cryptocurrency allows for anonymous, secure, rapid, and low-cost financial transactions. Cryptocurrencies are becoming more widely acknowledged around the world, but their uses remain limited. The present study investigated the factors that propel behavioral intention of individuals to use cryptocurrency in Jordan using the extended Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA) model. Survey questionnaires were sent to 1000 active Facebook users to gather data, and the entire 600 valid responses were evaluated utilizing Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Subjected norm, perceived risk, perceived usefulness, perceived enjoyment, perceived ease of use and trust, all impacted intention to use cryptocurrency positively, while attitude towards cryptocurrency affected intention to use cryptocurrency. Additionally, attitude towards cryptocurrency was influenced by perceived risk, perceived usefulness, perceived enjoyment, and perceived ease of use; while facilitating condition did not show influence. Also, attitude towards cryptocurrency had a mediating influence on the association between subjected norm, perceived risk, perceived usefulness, perceived enjoyment, and intention to use cryptocurrency.
Purpose This paper aims to provide a helpful tool for those who plan to implement blockchain-based solutions for the governance of the electronic medical record (EMR) in health-care settings. The goals are to identify each type of stakeholders involved in these projects and to clarify the relevance, to achieve success, of their readiness, intended as availability and ability to adopt blockchain. Design/methodology/approach The chosen methodology is a multiple case study on three initiatives that used blockchain to manage EMRs. This study relied on multiple sources of evidence. The primary data consisted of two rounds of semi-structured interviews with different informants. This study followed a grounded theory approach and performed within- and cross-case analyses. Findings This study identified the types of stakeholders â nodes and not-nodes â of the network and how their readiness level affects the implementation of blockchain-based projects applied to EMR. The nodes (e.g. patients and doctors) are pivotal in making the network working once this has been constructed. Out of the four readiness dimensions suggested by literature, motivational readiness, has the higher impact. Not-nodes stakeholders play a pivotal role in the projectâs pre-implementation phase. For them, structural readiness is the dimension with the higher relevance. Originality/value To the best of the authorsâ knowledge, it is the first time that a paper analyses the differences between nodes and not-nodes stakeholders of the blockchain network, in terms not only of type but also of readiness. Identifying the readiness level to implement successful projects is a fundamental step that has never been analysed in the health field.
Abstract Organizations adopt blockchain technologies to provide solutions that deliver transparency, traceability, trust, and security to their stakeholders. In a novel contribution to the literature, this study adopts the technology-organization-environment (TOE) framework to examine the technological, organizational, and environmental dimensions for adopting blockchain technology in supply chains. This represents a departure from prior studies which have adopted the technology acceptance model (TAM), technology readiness index (TRI), theory of planned behavior (TPB), united theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT) models. Data was collected through a survey of 525 supply chain management professionals in India. The research model was tested using structural equation modeling. The results show that all the eleven TOE constructs, including relative advantage, trust, compatibility, security, firmâs IT resources, higher authority support, firm size, monetary resources, rivalry pressure, business partner pressure, and regulatory pressure, had a significant influence on the decision of blockchain technology adoption in Indian supply chains. The findings of this study reveal that the role of blockchain technology adoption in supply chains may significantly improve firm performance improving transparency, trust and security for stakeholders within the supply chain. Further, this research framework contributes to the theoretical advancement of the existing body of knowledge in blockchain technology adoption studies.
This paper aims to identify the factors affecting the investment decision of retail investors to add crypto assets to their portfolios. The personality theory and the innovation diffusion theory are used in this study to understand the characteristics that influence investors' buying intentions. The study results show that the retail investors' purchase intentions are influenced by familiarity with the asset, trust, risk and return profile of the asset class, and the perceived security of the investor. The study also examines the role of innovativeness as a moderating variable in the relationship between purchase intentions and the primary variables. The study confirms that innovativeness has a significant mediating role in the relationship between purchase intentions and trust and also in the relationship between purchase intentions and perceived security. The results indicate that innovativeness has no significant moderating impact on the relationship between purchase intentions and familiarity and also on the relationship between purchase intentions and risk and return consciousness.
Purpose Blockchain technology (BCT) can be used for a wide variety of applications across domains and can bring many benefits. BCT-based applications can be beneficial for the government as well as businesses. Despite the many promises, BCT implementation lags behind. The purpose of this research is to identify a roadmap of critical implementation challenges that influence BCT implementation by governments. Design/methodology/approach The study develops an ISM-based model spread across seven levels to analyze the inter-relationship among the selected BCT challenges. The MICMAC analysis further helps in evaluating the variables based on their driving power and dependencies. Findings The findings show that all challenges have a strong impact on implementing BCT. The foundation for implementation BCT is to define standards and develop appropriate regulations. Next, the findings show the need for a shared infrastructure meeting the basic technical and societal requirements and developing viable business models to advance BCT implementation. Many challenges hinder the development of blockchain applications meeting the technical and ethical requirements. Originality/value Existing research has analyzed the relationship among challenges. To the best of the authors' knowledge this is the first paper to collate these implementation challenges and incorporate them to develop a hierarchical model using interpretive structural modeling technique. The results can be used to prioritize the tackling of the challenges.

This empirical study examines the factors influencing the adoption (AD) of cryptocurrencies in Malaysia's digital market. It is assumed that the adoption of cryptocurrencies would continue to increase. The role of the dependent variables of social influence (SI), transparency (TR), price value (PV), traceability (TRA), and attitude (AT) was examined to identify customer satisfaction as a mediator variable for cryptocurrency adoption. Random sampling was used to ensure that the research objectives were adequately examined. A total of 295 respondents answered the survey questions intended for cryptocurrency users in Malaysia. Data were analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-LSM). The findings revealed that SI, PV, TRA, and AT were all impactful in terms of AD (dependent variable) through the mediation of customer satisfaction in Malaysia's digital market. However, TR negatively impacts Malaysia's digital market. Future researchers in other regions and industries may be able to reproduce these findings and use similar constructs to add to the present body of knowledge. This study adds to the small body of literature on Bitcoin and digital money. These findings can assist researchers in understanding the role of cryptocurrency and identifying its primary influences on the Malaysian cryptocurrency market.

Blockchain technology provides a distributed support for information storage and traceability. Recently, it has been booming in a wide variety of domains: finance, food, energy, and health. In the field of physical activity, physical exercise, sport, and active ageing, this technology could also originate some interesting services introducing support for reliable repository of results, for gamification, or for secure data interchange. This systematic review explores the use of blockchain in this context. The objective is to determine to which extent this technology has fulfilled the potential of blockchain to bring these new added-value services. The authors explored 5 repositories in search of papers describing solutions applied to the above-mentioned frame. 17 papers were selected for full-text analysis, and they displayed diverse applications of blockchain, such as Fitness and healthcare, Sport, and Active ageing. A detailed analysis shows that the solutions found do not leverage all the possibilities of blockchain technology. Most of the solutions analyzed use blockchain for managing, sharing, and controlling access to data and do not exploit the possibilities of Smart Contracts or oracles. Additionally, the advantages of the blockchain model have not been fully exploited to engage users using approaches such as gamification.
Investors are gearing up to invest their money into wide range of cryptocurrency choices. However, investors are still somewhat hesitant about the adoption of this virtual currency. Therefore, there is a strong need to Ănd out the reasons by identifying the factors that a§ect the investorsĂ perceptions towards adoption decisions for investing in cryptocur- rencies. New constructs have been identiĂed that will provide value and utility for users of cryptocurrencies. The factors proposed in the model have the greatest inĂĄuence on the behavioral intention of the investors. Findings highlighted the concerns regarding trust, risk factors, ease of use, and supportive technologies.
Regardless of the benefits blockchain provides to the accounting information systems, its adoption and application is limited. This study: (1) investigated the underlying reasons for this limited adoption of blockchain in a developing country context; (2) explored the potential benefits and challenges of adopting blockchain; and (3) proposed how accounting and auditing should be facilitated to adopt blockchain technology. The study utilized a qualitative general inquiry approach by conducting 13 in-depth interviews with professionals and practitioners involved in the adoption process in organizations that had adopted blockchain technology, or are researching this technology and have plans to adopt this technology in the future. Findings revealed five reasons for the lack of blockchain adoption, contributing to Technology-Organization-Environment (TOE) framework and Institutional theory. In addition, the study identified the benefits and challenges of introducing blockchain into accounting and auditing while proposing a framework to facilitate blockchain adoption in these disciplines.
The digital transformation of core marketing activities substantially impacts relations between consumers and companies. Novel technologies are usually complex, making their underlying functionality as well as the desirable and undesirable implications hard to grasp for ordinary consumers. Cryptocurrencies are a prominent yet controversial and poorly understood example of an innovation that may transform companiesâ future marketing activities. In this study, we investigate how easily consumersâ attitudes toward cryptocurrencies can be shaped by splitting a convenience sample of 100 consumers into two equal groups and exposing them to true, but biased, information about cryptocurrencies (including market forecasts), respectively, highlighting either the advantages or disadvantages of the technology. We subsequently found a significant difference in the trust, security and risk perceptions between the two groups; specifically, more positive attitudes pertaining to trust, security, risk and financial gains prevailed in the group exposed to positively-skewed information, while perceptions regarding trust, risk and the sustainability of cryptocurrencies were weaker among the group exposed to negatively-skewed information. These findings reveal some important insights into how easily consumer attitudes toward new technologies can be shaped through the presentation of lopsided information and call for further in-depth research in this important yet under-researched field.

Consumer Behavior in Brand Consumption and Identification
In an attempt to deepen how the way of working is changing due to the digital transformation, this research aims at understanding the process by which individuals adopt blockchain technology in accountancy. We conducted a meta-synthesis of the qualitative literature on the topic of blockchain technology adoption in the context of accountancy. Drawing from 10 systematically selected qualitative studies, we analyzed the process of blockchain technology adoption in accountancy, with particular reference to the impacts on accounting professionals, in terms of individual attitudes and behaviors, as well as organizations. Our findings contribute to the existing literature in at least two ways. First, our research explores the topic of blockchain adoption in the accountancy domain and stresses the relevance of the use of that emerging technology by accounting professionals and organizations, as well as the main problems that could limit its adoption and use. Second, we provide an overview of the process of blockchain technology adoption with specific reference to the questions of âwhyâ and âhowâ blockchain is (or is not) adopted by accounting professionals and organizations, in an effort to shed light on a critical issue that has yet to be explored in accountancy.
This study aims to identify the application of Theory of Planned Behavior to predict people's intentions to invest in cryptocurrencies. Theory of Planned Behavior remains the most prominent theory in behavioral research to predict oneâs intention or behavior. This research selected and reviewed articles related to the application of Theory of Planned Behavior. Data was collected from journals, papers, books, and websites related to the theory of planned behavior (TPB) and cryptocurrency. This study revealed that Theory of Planned Behavior is valid and reliable to measure cryptocurrency investment intention. Self-efficacy was used to as a proxy for perceived of behavioral control. This study can be used to develop responsive strategies.
