Purpose Previous research has identified numerous business applications for non-fungible tokens (NFTs), yet there is a dearth of studies exploring this phenomenon in managerial practice. This article fills this gap by employing service-dominant logic and examining multiple NFT projects to gain insights into how the deployment of NFTs can contribute to achieving companiesâ strategic objectives. Design/methodology/approach Our research employs a diverse case selection strategy, focusing on 13 well-established brands using NFTs to transform their activities across various countries and sectors. We conducted a secondary data analysis, including press articles and social media content, to identify relevant NFT projects and develop five propositions that offer entry points for future studies in the broad field of crypto-marketing. Findings Five main areas are identified in which NFTs can help advance companiesâ strategic objectives: (1) enhancing perceived quality, (2) driving innovation performance, (3) accessing funds with zero interest, (4) enhancing flexibility and (5) promoting sustainability. Originality/value This article is among the first to investigate and systematize current trends and applications of NFTs in relation to companiesâ strategic objectives. It provides actionable insights for practitioners and specific propositions for further research by management scholars.

Recent developments in blockchain technology have enabled the development of wallet applications for storing peoplesâ cryptocurrency reserves. Cryptocurrency wallet applications could deploy affiliate marketing processes to increase the visibility of their products. From these affiliate marketing processes, supply chain firms in the air forwarding sector that seek to advertise their services to a larger audience could be benefited. This research examines whether affiliate marketing initials of cryptocurrency wallet applications affect their digital marketing efficiency, as well as whether air forwarding firmsâ website visibility could be benefited from them. After collecting the required Web Analytic data, the authors performed statistical analysis (correlations and linear regressions), followed by Fuzzy Cognitive Mapping (FCM) macroanalysis and Hybrid Modeling (HM) microanalysis to assess the outcomes of cryptocurrency wallet applicationsâ affiliate marketing programs. Hence, from the deployed methodology, valuable insights arose. The first part of the produced outcomes concerns the effect of cryptocurrency wallet application affiliate marketing metrics on their digital marketing results. The increased implications of affiliate marketing metrics (referring domains, backlinks, etc.) decrease the number of pages their visitors see. Regarding the air forwarder firmsâ website visibility, specific metrics (branded and referral traffic) were increased and others (social traffic) were decreased from the increment of cryptocurrency wallet application affiliate marketing metrics (backlinks, internal links, etc.). Supply chain firms, in the air forwarding sector, could have increased website visibility by deploying advertisements and affiliate marketing initiatives with cryptocurrency wallet organizations. Summing up, specific affiliate marketing metrics of cryptocurrency wallet applications are capable of significantly impacting their digital marketing performance and also constitute determinant factors of supply chain firmsâ website visibility.
The analysis of the causes or drivers of the adoption of big data analytics and blockchain and their subsequent influence on firm performance has become a significant need as a direct result of the rapidly expanding popularity of business intelligence. The purpose of this research is to present a model that investigates the direct and indirect influence of business intelligence on firm performance through the mediating roles of the adoption of big data analytics and blockchain. The analysis is based on data collected from a representative sample of 387 employees from 12 Information technology (IT) firms operating in Croatia. The study investigates these connections using a structural equation modeling. The findings showed that business intelligence has a direct and significant influence on firm performance. In addition, business intelligence significantly and positively influenced the adoption of big data analytics and blockchain and, in turn, firm performance. Additionally, the adoption of big data analytics and blockchain technology signified and positively mediated the relationship between business intelligence and firm performance. Both the mediations were partial. Finally, the study also provides managerial implications, limitations and future directions.
Big Data is mixed with huge, autonomous sources like decentralized and distributed control system. For organizations that use the conventional data processing mechanism to handle and archive these large data sets, these capabilities pose an extreme obstacle. We started with discussing some frameworks required for strategic excellence by examining the potential approaches of Big Data Analytics (BDA) and Business Intelligence (BI). In the end, we would design an integrated application that functions as an organization's strategic performance management diagnostic tool. âIn general, the emphasis and reach are on the corporate decision-making mechanism, there are some specifics on the analysis, but every conceivable tool and instrument is not specified, the concept is sufficiently concrete to assist in the creation of steps. The main premise of self-service business analytics (SSBA) is to make business users autonomous during data analytics. Driven by this potential, organizations are spending resources to design SSBA environmet to empower business employees and decentralize the analytics capabilities. Yet, little is known about how SSBA is facilitating business employeesâ independence, and moreover, the value that is co-created. Based on empirical data from a major Norwegian online marketplace and drawing on service-dominant logic as an analytical framework, we identify three main modes of data engagement in SSBA: no dependency, high dependency, and low dependency. Furthermore, we identify the required business usersâ resources in the analytical processes in each mode. We discuss the organizational implications of these findings.
