Enhancing Healthcare Efficacy Through IoT-Edge Fusion: A Novel Approach for Smart Health Monitoring and Diagnosis

This paper presents an innovative framework that leverages cutting-edge technologies to revolutionize healthcare systems, focusing on data security, privacy, and efficient medical diagnosis. Our approach integrates distributed ledger technology (DLT), artificial intelligence (AI), and edge computing to create a robust and dependable medical ecosystem. In our proposed system, patients’ health data is securely managed using a combination of elliptic curve cryptography-based identity-based cryptosystems and edge nodes, ensuring both privacy and integrity. These edge nodes, designed for low-power and short-range communication, play a pivotal role in in-vivo data collection and monitoring within the human body. The DLT model at the core of our framework utilizes peer-to-peer networks, enabling seamless information exchange while eliminating the need for centralized servers. We emphasize public edge DLTs, such as Ethereum, to ensure accessibility and data ownership for all stakeholders. Furthermore, our system incorporates a hybrid machine learning model for early detection and prediction of security threats, enhancing overall system efficiency. Our findings demonstrate a remarkable 99.7% accuracy in classification using this approach. In conclusion, this framework’s multidisciplinary approach bridges the gap between healthcare, edge computing, and DLT, promising real-time data processing, enhanced security, and privacy preservation. With the rise of the Internet of Things, this innovation holds the potential to transform the future of healthcare technology.

Keeping track of all IoT devices and figuring out which one to connect to in order to make service requests is getting more and more challenging. The device could also end up malfunctioning or performing poorly. We must determine the most effective method of data storage in order to provide the groundwork for how to build trust amongst devices.

The secure data access mechanism ensures that only authorized personnel can access patient's health information. Therefore, in distributed method, it protects data in the healthcare system. Here it provides patients and doctors with an efficient and secure access mechanism based on blockchain data collection. In this health system the proposed system can also protect the privacy of patients. Security analysis depends upon architecture to prevent from attacks and maintain integrity of system. In addition, the implementation of system based Ethereum used for feasibility test of proposed system. By hiding private information in the coverage environment in a way that a third party cannot discover this confidential information. In today's era, with the emergence of new technologies, QR codes have become one of the most popular codes. Provide mechanisms for protecting sensitive information QR codes are the most reliable method of hiding data because they do not use error correction levels and because it is difficult to change the encoded information. The process is divided into different categories, and various statistical parameters are used to evaluate its performance.

Ever since the crypto currency era began, block chain has come into the limelight more and more, because crypto currency works on block chain technology itself. As the use of crypto currencies or NFT (Non-Fungible Tokens) is increasing all over the world, the importance of block chain technology is also increasing. Block chain technology is now starting to have its impact on the life of the common man. An Efficient Trust Management Technique Using ID3 Algorithm With Blockchain in Smart Buildings IoT

Because of the rising population density, relationships are necessary to raise living standards through sending and receiving a wide range of services. Because of this, many means of object communication—regardless of their nature—are necessary to meet our daily needs. IoT is a network of physical things integrated with sensors, and software to communicate with each other. To establish a good connection, every object considered to be an associate of another object should meet certain requirements including scalability, interoperability, and trustworthiness. IoT security is a challenging task to protect the hardware and networks in the IoT system and a significant constraint to the deployment and realization of IoT. IoT security may include data confidentiality, authentication, access control, anonymity, and trust among services and products. Exchanging trust information is critical for assessing an entity’s trustworthiness. Therefore, trust information must be shared and stored securely to ensure reliability, honesty, and safety. We propose a secure trust management scheme built on blockchain technologies to secure the entire system in transparency, traceability, and material integrity. We implement a blockchain-based trust management architecture for smart buildings that collect node trust proof. It assigns a trust score to each node, securely stores them in an array, then the threshold value is computed using the ID3 Algorithm. IoT threshold value is broadcasted into the blockchain network and stored in the trusted list. According to the findings, our approach encompasses security measures such as tamper-proofing, attack resistance, reliability, and low functionality for IoT in smart buildings.

Smart technologies have enabled our lives to be more comfortable and tangible day by day. In lieu of that, cities are also turning into “smart cities” through essential implementation of Internet of Things (IoT). This chapter presents a deep insight for modeling, procuring and building the smart city plan using IoT and a security framework using blockchain technology. To plan and develop state-of-the-art infrastructure of a smart city, the major domains on which IoT should consider are individual networks (such as education, transport, hospitals, energy, homes, business, etc.) connecting together with proper security and management. To fulfil the said requirement, it is highly desirable to integrate and manage physical and societal infrastructures ensuring efficient and best utilization of available resources controlled by IoT and secured by blockchain. The IoT system may connect myriad of nodes or machines of various kind capable to communicate with each other to get service whenever required. Use of IoT enables to utilize the wireless sensor networks but every node of the IoT system is considered to be prone to different attacks. The integration of technologies like internet of computing (IoC) and internet of everything (IoE) enabled the things more connected via various communication modes. Blockchain suggestively uses mathematical hashing and encryption tools for data security. By achieving innovative solutions, the citizens of the smart city will be able to collaborate with local governance for various services but not limited to subsidies under government schemes, health and safety, smart assets, education and employment, real estate, waste and sanitation, renewable energy.

These dataset' analytics highlight the value of recently developed techniques such as machine learning (ML). ML uses a reasonable quantity of data to generate accurate predictions. In ML, data exchange and dependability are essential to enhancing the precision of outcomes. Results from the fusion of these two technologies (ML and BT) may be quite exact. In this research, we give a thorough investigation into the use of machine learning (ML) to strengthen the security of BT-based intelligent systems. The assaults on a blockchain-based network may be analysed using a variety of classic machine learning (ML) approaches, including Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM), Clustering, Bagging, and Support Vector Machines (SVM) (LSTM).We also discuss how the two technologies may be used together in a number of advanced areas, including smart urban, the national grid, medicine, and autonomous aerial vehicles (UAVs). Numerous researchers are now interested in distributed control systems that facilitate coordinated and cooperative autonomy as a result of the rising market for robotics. The fields of distributed control and cooperative robotics have constantly faced unsolvable issues with safety and distributed communication. Blockchain innovation has recently been recognized in this setting as a viable technique to solve several of the above problems, including the recognition of malicious nodes, malfunction in process automation, non-compliance with the established standards and privacy protections, safety strikes on robotic, and lack of clarity in measuring performance and audits. This research aims to offer a pathway for newcomers to enter this study area by providing a comprehensive image of blockchain technology’s operating principle and important components in the terminology of management and robotics. Blockchain innovation holds out hope for a comprehensive resolution to this issue and offers a comprehensive review of the system in the form of tutorials. A Survey on Encryption Algorithm with Hybrid Block Chain in Wireless Body Area Network

The recent electronic Medical monitoring system focuses on maintaining the database of patients with their medical history and up-to-date prescriptions and treatment maintained with high degree of confidentiality. The E-Medical services where Wireless Body Area Network (WBAN) is integrated face certain challenges such as data sharing, network reliability, database management and so on. The greatest threat in WBAN remained the data security and integrity. Several new methodologies supports to overcome these threats with secure hash function, digital signature with effective routing protocols to provide enhanced solutions for secure data maintenance and sharing in WBAN. The security system based on Block Chain Technology(BCT) are the most common trust building measure for WBAN, where the data are stored in distributed ledgers. This technology faces problems on minimal storage size and unauthorized access of the distributed data. This was overcome by the technique called sequential aggregate signature scheme with designated verifier with block chain based cloud transaction in WBAN in recent trends. The above scheme faces problem of wastage of storage space in the ledgers and it could be rectified by the proposed system of Encrypted Multi map block chain in WBAN which supports high degree of data access with reduced computational complexity of storage. This proposed system aims to simulate the WBAN with improved access of distributed authentication key of users in ledger pools and provides confidential sharing of data. This system deals with the comparative study of different encryption used in block chain storage to analyze their performance in WBAN

Blockchain-based Security for Internet of Medical Things Application

Internet of Things (IoT) refers to the network comprising of devices called "things" that are equipped with sensors, batteries, microcontrollers and radio transceivers for collecting and exchanging data with other devices and systems over the Internet. Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) signifies IoT applications in the healthcare sector and aims to improve the healthcare sector's technological, economic, and social aspects. An important concern in the IoMT is the security and privacy preservation of patient data. For IoMT to be widely adopted, assurance of data security and prevention of unauthorized access is of paramount importance. Presently IoMT applications incorporate centralized data storage which suffers from issues such as a single point of failure, a lack of strong protection against record tampering, hacking, data theft, trust and reliability. All of these issues can be resolved if IoMT adopts the blockchain technology leading to Blockchain-based IoT (BIoT) applications. Blockchain is a technology that aids in tracking, coordinating, and information sharing for a significant number of devices by maintaining ledgers of transactions on all connected peers, eliminating the need for a central server. This paper presents work related to the integration of multi-ledger blockchain architecture in IoMT and analyzes its security and resource implications. The results show that transition from centralized IoMT to decentralized BIoT introduces independence from the third parties, improves security, and removes a single point of failure. Additionally, the presented multi-ledger blockchain architecture with limited nodes demonstrates blockchain's scalability and adaptability with resource-limited IoMT devices.

With the help of blockchain technology, universities can provide the critical features required by the certificate distribution system to countermeasure this issue. This paper aims to provide recommendations for implementing an Educational Certificate Distribution System using blockchain technology. By utilising a detailed investigation study, the authors have jotted down the most suitable options for planning, researching, implementing, developing, and testing this application. The study also indicates the limitations and constraints of blockchain technology in this domain.

A Secure BlockChain Framework for IoT Healthcare

The medical industry is growing significantly along with emerging technologies like IoT., The fundamental idea behind integrating IoT into healthcare facilities is to enable it remotely accessible. The contact between patient and his doc tor is easy as well detection of disease. The purpose of this research is to provide a secure healthcare framework. This framework used blockchain technique to encrypt the patients' data on cloud servers. The blockchain is adopted in the healthcare industry since data is vulnerable to attacks and patients' record is having sensitive information that should be secure from attacks. For the last few years, different blockchain models have been put forth in the health system. However, these models' decentralized nature-a hallmark of blockchain technology-has led to the emergence of an issue known as illness overlaps as the chains expands. This problem is addressed using a blockchain, which has the ability to add a new block of data in the chain whenever there is an updating in patients' record. Additionally, multilayer blockchain approach is considered to secure the sensitive patient's data. This strategy protects data as well as maintain trust for the user. In this framework, AES 128-bit key is generated which is then provides support to SHA-256. Data is arranged into different blocks and then each block is encrypted to prevent unauthorized access. A system is created to demonstrate how the suggested approach is applied in the real healthcare sector. The efficiency of the proposed framework is compared with the RSA and DSA that are the two widely used encryption methods. Such algorithms, which are essential to blockchain technology and are used in the proposed work, are later evaluated by comparing their performances to one another. According on research findings, the framework has the shortest encryption and decryption time, making its efficiency more reliable and effective. Additionally, it is more durable and effective.

In this framework, the temporary data processing, storage, and filtration are done at the nearest fog node. This will reduce the overload, minimize the bandwidth requirement, reduce the traffic density and reduce the healthcare service time required by the cloud servers. A novel Queueing theory approach is proposed for better access control, providing in-time patient care service, and increasing the performance of the framework.

The Industrial Internet of Things or Industry 4.0 efficiently enhances the manufacturing process in terms of raising productivity, system performance, cost reduction, and building large-scale systems. It enables the connection of numerous heterogeneous devices and sensors into the internet network through the utilization of revolutionary techniques that transfer the manufacturing paradigm to intelligent processes. The traditional industrial internet of things adopts centralized architectures and complex encryption algorithms that suffer from several cyber-security threats and lead to data leakage, privacy disclosure, and high computational and communicational costs. In our work, we proposed a decentralized, efficient, low-power, scalable, secure, privacy-preserving, and trusting architecture based on a private blockchain network/smart contract and interplanetary file system technology for the Al-NajafyIraq oil refinery factory. That enables autonomous working and provides a high level of security authentication and privacy preservation, P2P communication, remote access, immutability and information backtracking. Traditional blockchain technology has storage limitation issues, most recent works adopted external servers or the cloud for storage purposes. Our proposed scheme addresses the limitations of blockchain data storage by adopting an interplanetary file system (IPFS) network; provides an efficient data encryption mechanism at the perceptual layer by adopting a lightweight encryption algorithm, high-performance, and ultra-low-power consumption ARM Cortex-M microcontroller. In addition, our architecture succeeds in merging blockchain technology, IoTs, and an IPFS with the oil refinery as an industrial application area. Moreover, it provides an efficient framework that resists common cyber-security attacks and realizes cyber-security requirements represented by data availability, integrity, and confidentiality.

Abstract Due in large part to the Internet of Things’ (IoT) anticipated enormous scope and extensive implementation, achieving safe and private communications on the IoT is difficult. Recent initiatives have investigated the use of blockchain technology to enable decentralized protection and privacy. Such methods, however, are prohibitive for the bulk of IoT applications due to their high computational and time requirements. We specifically offer a resource-efficient, blockchain-based IoT security and privacy solution in this study. The approach is made achievable by utilizing Deep Extreme Learning Machine in combination with unique computational resource exploitation in a typical IoT context (such as smart houses) (DELM). In the proposed method, the privacy, integrity, and accessibility of the Blockchain based Architecture of Smart Homes are prudently considered while assessing the reliability of the system. The overheads caused this strategy are negligible with respect to the security and privacy benefits, we further underline by presenting simulated findings.
