Blockchain based NFT marketplace to embrace pets

The Non Fungible Tokens are assets that have exploded wisely in recent years. One area where NFTs are yet to impact is in pet's life. Therefore, an NFT Marketplace for pets can be created so that pets can be embraced. This marketplace allows customers to list, sell, and buy NFTs. Marketplace will contain images or videos of pets as NFTs, that will be uploaded by the owner of the pet. There will also be a listing amount that can be mentioned by the owner and also it will have a minimum value of 0.01ETH. This value can be increased by the owner according to his/her interest. There will be several benefits to using NFTs as pets will get a secure environment and health care. The user can register to the marketplace with his Web3 wallet. This paper explains that these NFTs can be used to store and track important information about pets, such as their health records, and ownership. Owners or users will be able to develop their interest in the marketplace as it provides a gamified view. This marketplace will help in maintaining transparency and help owners to get informed about their pet's related vital information.

Exploring the Intersections between the Metaverse and Web3 Emerging Technologies

The advancements of the metaverse has validated a new world of possibilities with Web2 and Web3 technologies that are increasingly immersive, interconnected, spatial and decentralized. One of the key Web3 technologies that is intersecting with the metaverse is blockchain technology, that has now imbued metaverse worlds and platform as what are now identified as Layer-1 and Layer-2 metaverse, and in tandem the intersecting of decentralized Web3 technologies including but not limited to metaverse currencies and cryptocurrencies, non-fungible tokens and tokenization, marketplaces, digital wallets, and blockchain main and side-chain networks. In combination with interoperable and interconnected avatars, the metaverse is evolving beyond phygital experiences and asset architecting into financial experiences and asset trading. This research paper investigates the intersections between the metaverse and Web3 emerging technologies by firstly conducting a systematic literature review of the metaverse and its intersection with emerging technologies which currently has a dearth in academic and research literature despite the developments of the Web3 metaverse and its Layer-1 Layer-2 protocol. The review is followed by pilot-testing the metaverse platforms intersecting with Web3 technologies in real-world, particularly on the use of buy-and-sell, trading and item ownership under decentralized finance and financial technology. Finally, the research assesses the resulting metaverse based on user reviews and experiences on the feasibility of Web3 metaverse. The intersection of Web3 and the metaverse is still an early adoption of IR4.0 emerging technologies, yet the convergence of the metaverse, blockchain technologies and advancements in artificial intelligence is ultimately the precursor to the future Web4.

Harnessing Large Language Models for Cognitive Assistants in Factories

As agile manufacturing expands and workforce mobility increases, the importance of efficient knowledge transfer among factory workers grows. Cognitive Assistants (CAs) with Large Language Models (LLMs), like GPT-3.5, can bridge knowledge gaps and improve worker performance in manufacturing settings. This study investigates the opportunities, risks, and user acceptance of LLM-powered CAs in two factory contexts: textile and detergent production. Several opportunities and risks are identified through a literature review, proof-of-concept implementation, and focus group sessions. Factory representatives raise concerns regarding data security, privacy, and the reliability of LLMs in high-stake environments. By following design guidelines regarding persistent memory, real-time data integration, security, privacy, and ethical concerns, LLM-powered CAs can become valuable assets in manufacturing settings and other industries.

Metaverse and New Narrative

Today, technology continues to develop rapidly. As in many fields, innovations are emerging that will change the social, cultural, and economic relations that affect people’s daily lives. The process, which started with the opening of the door of the virtual world, which is said to be more advanced than ever, with VR, seems to reach a new dimension with the introduction of the concept of the metaverse. In addition to the innovations and effects it will bring in all other economic and financial related processes such as Cryptocoin, NFT, blockchain, Web3, the metaverse will also reveal a new narrative paradigm. It will be important to consider the narrative form in the metaverse era, which can be seen as an upshift of innovations from digital storytelling to the interactive narrative that emerged with the digital transformation. It is also important to consider the grand comprehensiveness of the metanarrative regarding the whole, the specificity of the narrative in the metaverse about each subject or object, and how this will be reflected in the big picture. As stated, in the metaverse era, how will the transition of the narrative to the storyliving stage rather than storytelling affect or result in the ontology of the processes of creating a narrative, conveying it through a medium, and being experienced by individuals? This study will be research on the concept of the metaverse and the questioning of the narrative concerning the social, cultural, and economic fields transformed by technology.

A recurring theme in the public debates is the lack of diversity among the developers and decision-makers in infrastructural personnel, in the big data used, and in software implementations. Metaverse appeared as a core concept as part of a cluster of other terms such as Web3 and blockchain. Many businesses and brands aim to participate in an emerging metaverse scene, and diversity issues are at the forefront of early attempts in the imaginaries and practices of the metaverse. Imaginaries are essential because the metaverse is growing through interrelated technologies such as virtual reality and augmented reality, as well as new developments in artificial intelligence and blockchain applications. It is an ongoing project, and all may shape the outcome, from decision-makers to authorities and audiences. As a keen follower of journalistic talk, corporate and institutional discourses, and industry leaders, in this chapter, I intend to demonstrate what types of issues concerning diversity debates take place in the early days of metaverse.

Chat2Code: A Chatbot for Model Specification and Code Generation, The Case of Smart Contracts

The potential of automatic code generation through Model-Driven Engineering (MDE) frameworks has yet to be realized. Beyond their ability to help software professionals write more accurate, reusable code, MDE frameworks could make programming accessible for a new class of domain experts. However, domain experts have been slow to embrace these tools, as they still need to learn how to specify their applications' requirements using the concrete syntax (i.e., textual or graphical) of the new and unified domain-specific language. Conversational interfaces (chatbots) could smooth the learning process and offer a more interactive way for domain experts to specify their application requirements and generate the desired code. If integrated with MDE frameworks, chatbots may offer domain experts with richer domain vocabulary without sacrificing the power of agnosticism that unified modelling frameworks provide. In this paper, we discuss the challenges of integrating chatbots within MDE frameworks and then examine a specific application: the auto-generation of smart contract code based on conversational syntax. We demonstrate how this can be done and evaluate our approach by conducting a user experience survey to assess the usability and functionality of the chatbot framework. The paper concludes by drawing attention to the potential benefits of leveraging Language Models (LLMs) in this context.

Business meetings in the metaverse: stakeholder views evolve

Purpose Organizations have started using the metaverse to sell non-fungible tokens, execute engineering processes and conduct business meetings. A condition of creating value by moving business processes to the metaverse is acceptance of this technology. In business-to-business scenarios, internal employees and external partners may have different views on the topic but must agree upon new practices. Understanding common motivations and challenges associated with using the metaverse is crucial to its success. Design/methodology/approach The authors interviewed managers from a pharmaceutical company considering conducting meetings with clients in the metaverse. A series of 23 statements on reasons for (non)-use was generated. Twenty-five individuals (13 employees and 12 clients) then ranked these statements against each other, revealing what would drive or hinder their metaverse use. The authors compared these perspectives to identify common issues. Findings The authors identified four different views. Views 1 and 2 correspond to internal and external participants, while Views 3 and 4 correspond to external ones only. View 1 is skeptical and underlines the role of peers in acceptance. View 2 is a positive perspective centered on usefulness. View 3 is ambivalent and is centered on efforts required to use the metaverse. View 4 reveals a reversed perspective wherein using the metaverse is a low-effort activity. Originality/value This paper proposes a case study probing acceptance of a realistic business use of the metaverse. This paper identifies risks to mitigate and motivations to leverage when proposing metaverse usage in a business-to-business context.

Overcoming the blockchain technology credibility gap

Abstract Blockchain technology has been designed to improve the transmission of transparent information across a variety of industries and products. Yet, consumers tend to perceive product information provided by blockchain technology (vs. humans) as less credible. As this may not apply to all consumers, it becomes critical for companies to understand how to improve blockchain perceived credibility. This work investigates how individual differences and marketing actions shape consumer responses to product information provided by blockchain technology (vs. humans). Four controlled experiments demonstrate that consumers perceive the information provided by blockchain technology (vs. humans) as having less credibility, which in turn decreases word‐of‐mouth and intention to share information about the product on social media (Study 1). This effect is stronger for consumers with lower need for cognition (Study 2a), which in turn affects willingness to buy and actual behavior (Study 2b). Providing social proof—that is, the number of satisfied customers who recommend blockchain technology—increases blockchain perceived credibility (Study 3). These insights deepen the understanding of how individual differences shape consumer's responses to product information provided by blockchain technology and offer actionable insights on how to boost technology credibility.

What’s my future: a Multisensory and Multimodal Digital Human Agent Interactive Experience

This paper describes an interactive multimodal and multisensory fortune-telling experience for digital signage applications that combines digital human agents along with touchless haptic technology and gesture recognition. For the first time, human-to-digital human interaction is mediated through hand gesture input and mid-air haptic feedback, motivating further research into multimodal and multisensory location-based experiences using these and related technologies. We take a phenomenological approach and present our design process, the system architecture, and discuss our gained insights, along with some of the challenges and opportunities we have encountered during this exercise. Finally, we use our singular implementation as a paradigm as a proxy for discussing complex aspects such as privacy, consent, gender neutrality, and the use of digital non-fungible tokens at the phygital border of the metaverse.

First, the concepts, principles, and what gave rise to the metaverse are explored, and which use cases have already been adopted. Next, the chapter reviews use cases in the context of technology stacks such as fusing AI on blockchain in metaverse and business model opportunities it creates in the airline, airport, and travel industry. Specific examples and illustrations are provided, which conclude with new opportunities that can be explored and which benefits they will bring.

Abstract Digital transformation has made enormous changes in the banking domain, where FinTech is the salient driving force inside it. Especially in the banking industry, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Blockchain technology act as the most innovative technologies. Similarly, Chatbots in commercial banking and Robo-advisors in investment banking has shifted banks into the entire virtual environment. In this context, the main objectives of this chapter are: to determine the current application of AI and blockchain in the banking industry, to identify the challenges faced by banks in adapting AI and blockchain technology, and to provide new insights on future banking in the industry 5.0 in this digital era. This chapter discusses the application of two robotic platforms widely used in banking, chatbots, and Robo-advisors. Chatbots are more like frontline employees of banks who are commonly engaged in customer relationship management, sales, and marketing. In contrast, Robo-advisors are a relatively advanced AI tool involved in investment and portfolio management. Blockchain will accelerate digital transformation where a decentralized digital ledger system is used for banking transactions. However, this is entirely the opposite of conventional centralized digital banking, and the adoption of these technologies is still in its infancy. Employment, performance, security, privacy and trust, cost, ethical and regulatory challenges are the most common challenges. To avoid the challenges, banks should concern with strategies like collaboration with robots, increasing the platforms’ performance, etc. Finally, the chapter provides insights on banking at industry 5.0. In the future, banking customers can experience completely virtual and customer-oriented banking services. In this regard, the fusion of all technologies and collaborative human effort is essential.

Designing Personalized Integrated Healthcare Monitoring System through Blockchain and IoT

Personalised Integrated Healthcare Monitoring System (PIHMS) has received major attention from the healthcare industry. With large population and strong growth of Indonesian middle class, PIHMS is certainly a big market for major healthcare providers. Although Indonesia has strong growth of middle-class, ironically, it is not supported with adequate physician ratio. Indonesian Ministry of Health (MoH) reported in 2020 the ratio of physicians per 1.000 patients is 0,62, far below WHO standard. As consequence, many Indonesian patients prefer to go abroad to have better healthcare services. The article supports the government's initiative to develop PIHM design by implementing IoT devices and blockchain networks. The use of PIHMS is essential to reach large patients that spread in remote areas, that suits to Indonesian condition. The article proposes PIHM based on blockchain solution (MedDApp) that enables to utilise IoT devices to carry out remote monitoring and medical consultation. The article examines the use of blockchain architecture to support developing data interchange between patients, healthcare providers and third parties such insurances and ministry of health (MoH). Data gatherings from respective stakeholders from Data and Information Centre division (Pusdatin), MoH and state-own hospitals to support developing smart health care architecture (MedDApp). The MedDApp design is expected to provide secure access between patients with healthcare professionals and third parties (national insurance companies and researchers in MoH). The outcome of the article is expected to be used as a reference for major healthcare providers to provide better services for their large patients.

Academic Payment Tokenization: An Online Payment System for Academia Utilizing Non-Fungible Tokens and Permissionless Blockchain

Nowadays, traditional payment methods such as cash, cheques, credit/debit cards, and bank transfers are commonly used for financial transactions across a wide range of industries, including healthcare, real estate, supply chain, gaming, music, finance, retail, agriculture, tourism, pharmaceuticals, and the education sector too. However, these methods often involve transaction fees, potential delays, and security concerns. These methods lack transparency and traceability features, making tracking, authenticating, and verifying payments and their associated records difficult. To overcome these issues, we propose a Non-Fungible Token (NFT) based online payment system that leverages blockchain technology (BT) features and security to revolutionize financial expenses in the education sector. We also present wallet generation, fee tokenization and NFT generation processes. These processes utilize Ethereum and an interplanetary file system (IPFS) to store metadata information associated with fee payment details securely. We use Remix IDE, MetaMask wallet, and Sepolia test network to deploy and analyze the proposed system's results. We have also used the JMeter simulation toolkit to conduct comprehensive experiments to evaluate the performance of the proposed system in terms of throughput, latency, and response time. Our assessment identifies the increase in performance parameters with the number of users. This initiative will positively contribute towards addressing the issues of financial transactions in the education sector.

Advertisers and media owners are becoming more dependent on advertising, when the traditional way is losing its effect, they are eagerly looking for alternative ways to reach consumers, and keeping their brand trust, promise, and image at the top, and to generate more profit. Although there are many ways companies and brands alike can seek to make money off of social media, the traditional platforms are becoming obsolete. Gone are the days of having the logo, a photo, and an attractive slogan sufficient for attracting new customers. It can be said that advertising relies heavily on good aesthetics and application of the brand image, however applying that correctly to the target audience effectively can enhance and produce better outcomes, it's about how a business achieves success, scale worldwide, persuade consumers to buy into it, and reach its goals and profits. To create an effective and impactful advertisement in our modern world, companies must turn to technology; For technology is the enabler of a wider selection of tools that help businesses make better data-driven and informative decisions. This can be done by collecting data through third parties, internal or external surveys, and polls to enhance and improve their product delivery and message. With the use of data, algorithms can be then created to understand the consumer's behavior, therefore, enabling a business to better target its user-base based on their interests, search patterns, and online behavior. Moreover, the collected data from the mentioned tools can be then transformed into resourceful decisions to help the business better understand its user-base, therefore choosing from a plethora of options such as using influencers to advertise their product on live-video streams, or the traditional bloggers, and the many content creators available. Web3 is on the horizon, with the accelerative pace the metaverse took over the internet, brands turned to the newly found virtual space to promote themselves. This is a stepping stone into what is to come next as it taps into our day-to-day lives, economy, and social interactions [16]. The main component of web3 is the ability to build on it and interact with the web like never before and securely allowing users to maintain their privacy. Users are able to buy, maintain and sell virtual assets on the blockchain which unleashes a whole new era of using digital goods paved by the improvement of Virtual and Augmented realities known as VR and AR [1]. This has been proven by the famously known “Metaverse” world where companies such as Nintendo, Sony, and other gaming brands as well as celebrities such as Snoop Dogg rushed to create their own virtual theme parks and sold “plot of lands” in the said universe on the blockchain known as NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens). This has created a ripple effect that continued in other virtually made assets, mainly video games, and lastly “The Metaverse” that “Meta” formerly known as “Facebook” is building upon. This research will highlight the United Arab Emirates' advancements in the adoption of the metaverse into its different industries. The United Arab Emirates has taken great measures to integrate the metaverse and its related technology, including cryptocurrencies, into its economy, government sector and ultimately its society. Will Virtual advertisements be developed as a result of Web3.0 and Metaverse's integration of virtual and physical environments and virtual economies?

The Metaverse will have a variety of effects on marketing. Businesses need to maintain their identities in the Metaverse realm. Generation Z and Generation alpha will have an easier time adjusting to virtual realms. The augmented reality environment allows buyers to interact with products without leaving the comfort of their own homes. Realization of in-store experiences is possible in the universe of the Metaverse. In addition, there will be an increase in the number of options for branding in the Metaverse. Virtual billboards and the virtual clothing consumers choose to wear will also influence brand awareness. Additionally, Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) will be used to produce branded virtual content for end users. Examining the influence that technologies powered by artificial intelligence have had on digital marketing and branding will be the primary focus of this research project. In addition, research will be conducted into the applications of the Metaverse, artificial intelligence, and other digital technologies in the marketing field and studies about these subject areas. The research investigated several digital technologies, including the Metaverse, artificial intelligence, blockchain, virtual reality, and augmented reality. It is of the utmost importance for businesses to be able to compete in digital and virtual environments within the context of digital transformation to thrive in an increasingly competitive world. Companies need to invest in the Metaverse, artificial intelligence, and various other forms of digital technology to expand their marketing awareness in virtual environments, expand their customer portfolios, and become brands to take the lead in their respective markets.

Exploring Adoption, Implementation, and Use of Autonomous Mobile Robots in Intralogistics Applications

Autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) use decentralized, AI-driven decision-making processes to providing material handling capabilities in industrial settings. Essay 1 examines how firms organize and engage to mitigate uncertainty during external technology integration (ETI), using an abductive approach with dyadic customer-supplier data to extend prior ETI models by exploring firm engagement, organizational adaptation, and distinct uncertainty types in AMR ETI projects. Essay 2 applies a grounded theory approach to examine AMR integration, using constant comparison and theoretical sampling to develop core categories explaining how suppliers, customers, and users exchange knowledge impacting AMR integration and project performance. Finally, Essay 3 is a conceptual paper examining the importance of end-user adoption by integrating ETI and technology acceptance model (TAM) frameworks, exploring important relationships between managerial interventions, cognitive constructs, user acceptance, and project success in AMR ETIs. As a whole, these essays contribute to the body of knowledge by extending the breadth and depth of current ETI models, emerging a substantive theory of AMR AIU, and extending TAM by grounding managerial interventions and individual cognitive constructs in an AMR context. Managers can use these frameworks to differentiate AMRs and other autonomous collaborative technology from traditional automation, and develop strategies enabling timely and effective AMR implementation.

With the ever-increasing cost of livelihood, technological intervention is necessary to keep costs under control. Hence, smart home technology can be considered as a well-established and entrenched region of interest. In the current scenario, research subsidizes present-time houses, enabling the user to design and manage a smart home to conserve energy while allowing for more autonomous applications. A voice-activated home automation system integrates the Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, and Natural Language Processing to deliver a cost-effective and efficient method of interacting with household equipment. The primary objective of this paper is to assess SPAs using blockchain technology and a natural language processor (NLP), as well as the design of a SPA based on the internet of things. Applicable cyber threats and countermeasures are also addressed in this article. Using Yule's coefficient of association, a case study was undertaken to evaluate the association between privacy and security threats posed by this modern technology. The findings show that privacy and security are positively related.

Chapter 20 explores the rise of the ‘metaverse’ & virtual reality. With new concepts such as Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) & intangible online assets, there have been questions raised about potential concerns (both fair and unfair) & how society needs to be mindful about the use of new technology. Older generations and politicians hailing over the ‘culture wars’ and not addressing the issues effectively, and making generalized assumptions around behaviour, messaging and impact. The increasing popularity of social media platform TikTok, with algorithms creating user-specific content & rising stars who are ‘ordinary people’, has proven very effective in creating a sense of intimacy between young users, in a way that Facebook, in particular, is struggling to achieve. The chapter ends with an interview with creative entrepreneur James K. Wight, who discusses TikTok, Generation Z and the influence of politics on content. He believes there is a gap in the market for animated content, with ‘tent pole’ characters driving stories and allowing for transferability. He theorizes about the future & Generation Alpha who, he predicts, will succumb to total virtual immersion, as individuals become more attracted to this sense of ultimate control.

A Novel Framework of an IOT‐Blockchain‐Based Intelligent System

With the growing need of technology into varied fields, dependency is getting directly proportional to ease of user‐friendly smart systems. The advent of artificial intelligence in these smart systems has made our lives easier. Several Internet of Things‐ (IoT‐) based smart refrigerator systems are emerging which support self‐monitoring of contents, but the systems lack to achieve the optimized run time and data security. Therefore, in this research, a novel design is implemented with the hardware level of integration of equipment with a more sophisticated software design. It was attempted to design a new smart refrigerator system, which has the capability of automatic self‐checking and self‐purchasing, by integrating smart mobile device applications and IoT technology with minimal human intervention carried through Blynk application on a mobile phone. The proposed system automatically makes periodic checks and then waits for the owner’s decision to either allow the system to repurchase these products via Ethernet or reject the purchase option. The paper also discussed the machine level integration with artificial intelligence by considering several features and implemented state‐of‐the‐art machine learning classifiers to give automatic decisions. The blockchain technology is cohesively combined to store and propagate data for the sake of data security and privacy concerns. In combination with IoT devices, machine learning, and blockchain technology, the proposed model of the paper can provide a more comprehensive and valuable feedback‐driven system. The experiments have been performed and evaluated using several information retrieval metrics using visualization tools. Therefore, our proposed intelligent system will save effort, time, and money which helps us to have an easier, faster, and healthier lifestyle.

Chat2Code: Towards conversational concrete syntax for model specification and code generation, the case of smart contracts

The revolutionary potential of automatic code generation tools based on Model-Driven Engineering (MDE) frameworks has yet to be realized. Beyond their ability to help software professionals write more accurate, reusable code, they could make programming accessible for a whole new class of non-technical users. However, non-technical users have been slow to embrace these tools. This may be because their concrete syntax is often patterned after the operations of textual or graphical interfaces. The interfaces are common, but users would need more extensive, precise and detailed knowledge of them than they can be assumed to have, to use them as concrete syntax. Conversational interfaces (chatbots) offer a much more accessible way for non-technical users to generate code. In this paper, we discuss the basic challenge of integrating conversational agents within Model-Driven Engineering (MDE) frameworks, then turn to look at a specific application: the auto-generation of smart contract code in multiple languages by non-technical users, based on conversational syntax. We demonstrate how this can be done, and evaluate our approach by conducting user experience survey to assess the usability and functionality of the chatbot framework.

A Blockchain and NLP Based Electronic Health Record System: Indian Subcontinent Context

The healthcare system in the Indian subcontinent is plagued with numerous issues related to the access, transfer, and storage of patient's medical records. The lack of infrastructure to properly communicate and track records between all key participants has allowed the distribution of counterfeit drugs, dependency on unsafe methods of communication, and lack of trust between patients and providers. During the global COVID-19 pandemic, the need for a robust communication and record tracking system has been further emphasized. To facilitate efficient communication and mitigate the mentioned issues, a nationwide EHR (electronic health record) system must be introduced to bring the healthcare system into digital space. To further enhance security, efficiency, and cost, the innovation of Blockchain is introduced. Blockchain is a decentralized data structure that allows secure transactions between untrusted parties without needing a central authority. In this paper, a Hyperledger fabric-based Blockchain Electronic Healthcare Record (EHR) system is proposed. The system is integrated with technologies such as NLP (Natural Language Processing), and Machine Learning to provide users with practical features.
