Distributed ledger technologies, blockchain and smart contracts: technical foundations and key concepts

This chapter focuses on introducing blockchain coupled with its associated smart contracts as a particular and prominent instance of distributed ledger technologies (DLT). The chapter begins with a recent definition of DLT. Next, it discusses blockchain technology while referring to its two prominent types (i.e. permissionless and permissioned). Subsequently, the notions of smart contracts and oracles are explained and the key benefits and capabilities of blockchain are presented. A section is devoted to a conceptual model of how a blockchain-based application can be justified, and examples from literature are analysed to pave a logical path towards the subsequent chapters.

Legal Analysis and Rule Construction of Smart Contracts

In the context of the boom in blockchain technology since 2008, the range of applications for smart contracts, which were first introduced in 1995, has been expanding. Their development, however, has been hampered by legal issues. The legal research on smart contracts is of great significance. Theoretically, it challenges and enriches the traditional contract theory and legal system. From a practical point of view, it helps regulate its application and protect the rights of parties in various fields such as finance and supply chain. This article delves into the legal nature of smart contracts, analyzing their relevance to traditional contract elements such as offers and acceptance. It also discusses the protection difficulties such as the difficulty of contract modification, the difficulty of contract rescission and the difficulty of contract validity. Suggested solutions include incorporating it into the existing legal system and using soft law for regulation. In summary, although smart contracts face challenges, with the development of technology and the improvement of laws, their intelligent development prospects are broad, and will drive social innovation.

Tax and legal framework for the ruble-backed stablecoin A7A5 within the digital rights system of the Russian Federation

The article is devoted to the study of the tax and legal aspects of the ruble-backed stablecoin A7A5, which is a foreign digital right and is qualified in the Russian Federation as a digital financial asset. The subject of the study is the specifics of the legal regime of foreign digital rights classified as digital financial assets in the Russian Federation, and the taxation of transactions with such an asset. As a result of the conducted research, the author comes to the conclusion that, despite the creation of a legal framework for the integration of foreign digital rights into the Russian legal order, their tax and legal regime remains insufficiently developed. It is shown that this category is of an auxiliary (technical) nature and serves primarily as a tool for legitimizing a certain range of foreign assets in Russia, without being a full-fledged and independent legal construct. It is noted that the Tax Code of the Russian Federation lacks special provisions regulating the taxation of foreign digital rights, except for transactions within the experimental legal regime, which creates legal uncertainty. The author argues that recognizing foreign digital rights as digital financial assets represents a new phase in Russia's digital financial assets market, driven significantly by the A7A5 asset's integration with a public blockchain. This not only expands the opportunities for the circulation of such assets but also gives rise to unique transactions with such assets in the decentralized finance environment, which directly raises the issue of the need to develop special approaches to accounting for income, expenses and losses from such transactions for tax purposes. It is concluded that the economic nature of such transactions may be similar to transactions with derivative financial instruments and hedging. This similarity justifies extending the special tax rules for such analogous instruments to transactions with foreign digital rights. The results of the study can be applied to the further development of legislation on the taxation of foreign digital rights.

Blockchain smart contracts for decentralized matching of counterparties and automatic settlement of financial derivatives

Financial derivatives are widely recognized for their effectiveness in managing interest rate risk, demonstrating the principle of comparative advantage in finance. However, traditional financial derivative transactions are often complex and can expose participants to market and credit risks. To mitigate these risks, reduce transaction costs, and enhance liquidity, this paper proposes a blockchain-based matching mechanism for financial derivatives that uses smart contracts for decentralized counterparty matching and settlement. Smart contracts facilitate secure data sharing among participants, ensuring the integrity and immutability of transaction data. We design a transaction pool mechanism-based smart contracts for counterparty matching and automatic settlement of financial derivatives involving real fiat currencies and introduce an efficient peer-to-peer counterparty matching method, where the entire trading process is conducted on a decentralized blockchain, ensuring greater security and transparency. A prototype implementation based on Ethereum smart contracts validates the effectiveness of our proposed model, demonstrating its potential to streamline and secure financial derivative transactions.

Legal Challenges in Ascertaining the Will of Parties in Smart Contracts

Smart contracts, self-executing programs on blockchain platforms, are transforming how contractual obligations are expressed and enforced. Their adoption presents complex legal challenges, particularly in ascertaining the true will of contracting parties. This paper explores doctrinal and practical difficulties in determining intent within smart contracts, examining the transformation of the autonomy of will, the legal nature of smart contracts, the expression and proof of consent, and judicial and regulatory developments. Special emphasis is placed on Uzbekistan, where legal infrastructure remains underdeveloped. Through comparative analysis and authoritative academic sources, the article proposes solutions such as hybrid contractual models, legal recognition of smart contracts as electronic transactions, and standardized frameworks to ensure fairness and enforceability.

Blockchain technology is an emerging and disruptive technical innovation that has revolutionized various industries by introducing decentralized and transparent ledger systems. Smart Contracts are one of the most significant blockchain use cases, and they are a significant component of many platforms and apps made with blockchain or distributed ledger technology. This chapter will discuss the current state of blockchain-enabled Smart Contracts in Human Resource Management (HRM), their applications, and implementation challenges. Researchers and HR professionals can make well-informed decisions about implementing this innovative technology by studying both applications and challenges. The study is based on secondary sources of data. The researchers have referred to research papers and magazines such as Forbes and Harvard Business Review . Furthermore, reports from renowned organizations such as McKinsey, KPMG, Deloitte, PwC, etc. have been referred. Findings: Findings reveal that blockchain helps in recruitment and selection, diversity, equity and inclusion, employee engagement and retention, industrial relations, and labour laws, streamlining remote work. The study bridges the research gap by being a pioneer in studying the role of blockchain technology in industrial relations and labour laws.

Research on vulnerability optimization strategies in smart contracts based on Smartcheck

This study addresses the critical need for enhanced security in blockchain-based smart contracts, which are vulnerable to various exploits. Building on the existing Smartcheck tool, we conduct a comprehensive analysis of common vulnerabilities, including integer overflow, delegatecall, and timestamp dependence, and propose methodological improvements. We developed SmartETH, an advanced static analysis tool, incorporating improved detection algorithms to effectively identify and mitigate these security risks. Utilizing a dataset of 3,000 verified contracts from Etherscan, SmartETH was evaluated against the original Smartcheck and other tools such as Oyente and Slither. The results demonstrate that SmartETH significantly reduces both false positives and false negatives, achieving higher accuracy and reliability in vulnerability detection. Consequently, SmartETH provides a robust solution for securing smart contracts, thereby enhancing trust and safety in blockchain applications.

Автоматизированные инструменты безопасной разработки смарт-контрактов Ethereum

Данная работа посвящена обзору автоматизированных инструментов безопасной разработки смарт-контрактов Ethereum. Рассматриваются актуальные уязвимости, характерные для смарт-контрактов, такие как уязвимость повторного входа, недостаточный контроль доступа, манипуляции с оракулом цены и другие. К каждой уязвимости приведена иллюстрация с уязвимым кодом. Далее рассмотрены разные типы существующих автоматизированных инструментов безопасной разработки смарт-контрактов: статический анализатор, линтер, символьный исполнитель, фаззинг и подходы на основе машинного обучения. Для каждого типа инструмента рассмотрено соответствующее реальное решение, которое является одним из лучших в своей категории. Это такие open-source решения как статический анализатор Slither, линтер Solhint, символьный исполнитель Mythril и фреймворк Foundry, который содержит в себе возможность фаззинга. Также рассмотрена текущая эффективность современных решений, которая показывает, что текущие угрозы плохо детектируется существующими инструментами. Исходя из этого предложены направления для дальнейшего развития новых инструментов безопасной разработки смарт-контрактов. Полученные результаты могут быть использованы для более глубокого понимания вопросов безопасности смарт-контрактов, а также для повышения безопасности децентрализованных приложений и развития методов автоматизированного аудита смарт-контрактов. This paper provides an overview of automated tools for secure development of Ethereum smart contracts. The article discusses current vulnerabilities specific to smart contracts, such as re-entrancy vulnerability, insufficient access control, price oracle manipulation, and others. Each vulnerability is accompanied by an illustration of the vulnerable code. Next, we discuss different types of existing automated tools for secure smart contract development: static analyzer, linter, symbolic executor, fuzzing, and machine learning-based approaches. For each type of tool, a corresponding real solution is considered, which is one of the best in its category. These are open-source solutions such as the Slither static analyzer, the Solhint linter, the Mythril symbolic executor, and the Foundry framework, which includes fuzzing capabilities. The current effectiveness of modern solutions is also considered, which shows that current threats are poorly detected by existing tools. Based on this, directions for the further development of new tools for the secure development of smart contracts are proposed. The obtained results can be used to gain a deeper understanding of smart contract security issues, as well as to enhance the security of decentralized applications and develop automated smart contract auditing methods.

Blockchain and Smart Contracts for Avoiding and Resolving Construction Disputes and Enforcing Dispute Adjudication Board Decisions

This article explores how blockchain and smart contracts can revolutionize dispute resolution in the construction industry, particularly by addressing enforceability issues seen in traditional mechanisms such as The Federation Internationale des Ingenieurs-Conseil’s (FIDIC) dispute adjudication board (DAB). While FIDIC’s DAB decisions are binding but not final, leading to enforcement challenges, blockchain-based solutions offer more immediate and efficient alternatives. Following doctrinal, normative and partially comparative qualitative legal research methodologies, this study examines the potential of smart contracts to automate contract performance and payment, manage task performance and resolve disputes. Promising developments in blockchain-based smart contracts enable secure, performance-based payments and incorporate an escrow mechanism to minimize disputes. Despite these advancements, risks related to noncompliance remain. This article proposes improvements, including private blockchains, escrow mechanisms, and expert pools and transposing a standardized contracting on-chain for dispute resolution to enhance compliance and reliability. By integrating blockchain with traditional systems, this article suggests that stakeholders such as FIDIC can formalize procedures and provide clearer, enforceable outcomes, addressing existing gaps in enforcement and improving access to justice in construction disputes.

Background: The rise of blockchain technology has led to the development of smart contracts, which are self-executing contracts with the terms of the agreement directly written into code. While they promise enhanced efficiency, security, and automation, the legal implications of smart contracts on conventional contract law remain largely underexplored. The advent of these digital contracts challenges traditional legal frameworks and calls for a reassessment of existing contract law principles. Objective: This study aims to analyze the implications of smart contracts for conventional contract law, focusing on the legal, ethical, and practical challenges they present. The research seeks to evaluate how smart contracts align with or diverge from traditional contract principles such as offer, acceptance, and enforceability. Method: A qualitative research approach was employed, utilizing a comprehensive literature review and case law analysis to explore the intersection of smart contracts and conventional contract law. Interviews with legal experts and blockchain developers were also conducted to gather insights on real-world applications. Results: The findings reveal that while smart contracts offer substantial benefits in terms of automation and security, they also raise issues related to ambiguity, legal recognition, and the need for updated regulations. The study identifies a gap in existing legal frameworks regarding the enforceability of smart contracts. Conclusion: Smart contracts have significant potential to revolutionize contract law, but their integration into conventional legal systems requires substantial legal reform and adaptation. Further research is needed to establish clear regulatory standards.

Potential Ways for Smart Contract Technology to Improve the Efficiency of Economic Transactions in the Context of Artificial Intelligence

Smart contract technology based on artificial intelligence background is gradually becoming a brand-new path to improve the efficiency of economic transactions due to its unique advantages. This paper initially explores the impact of smart contract technology on economic transaction efficiency through empirical analysis of models and data. The credit mechanism is introduced as an intermediate variable to analyze its mediating effect in the process of improving economic transaction efficiency by smart contract technology. The optimization of Fabric transaction mechanism is realized by using the improved credit model, which further exerts the role of smart contract technology in enhancing economic transaction efficiency. The principal component analysis is used to calculate the comprehensive score of economic transaction efficiency before and after the optimization of smart contract trading mechanism to show the effect of the development of smart contract technology on the improvement of economic transaction efficiency. This paper concludes that the development of smart contract technology will significantly and positively promote the improvement of economic transaction efficiency through benchmark regression analysis, mediation effect test and other methods. After the optimization of smart contract transaction mechanism, the comprehensive score of economic transaction efficiency produces significant improvement compared with the pre-optimization period, in which the average value of the comprehensive score of transaction efficiency in Guangdong, Jiangsu, Shanghai, and Beijing is improved by 20.18%, 24.52%, 33.77%, and 35.54%, respectively. It further indicates that smart contract technology is an effective path to improve economic transaction efficiency.

This abstract provides an overview of the implementation and security considerations associated with blockchain-based smart contracts. Smart contracts are self-executing contracts with predefined rules encoded on a blockchain, enabling automated and tamper-proof execution of contractual agreements. The implementation of smart contracts involves writing code in programming languages such as Solidity and deploying them on blockchain platforms such as Ethereum. However, the adoption of smart contracts introduces various security challenges, including vulnerabilities in the code, malicious actors, and regulatory compliance issues. This abstract discusses key security considerations for smart contracts, such as code auditing, formal verification, secure coding practices, and regulatory compliance. Additionally, it explores emerging trends and techniques for enhancing the security and resilience of blockchain-based smart contracts. By addressing these security considerations, blockchain-based smart contracts can realize their potential to revolutionize industries by enabling trustless and efficient execution of agreements while maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of transactions.

A systematic review on smart contracts security design patterns

Abstract Smart contracts have accelerated the adoption of blockchain technology across various domains by enabling coded agreements between transaction participants. However, increased software defects and vulnerabilities in smart contracts, driven by developer inexperience with languages like Solidity and a lack of effective detection tools, pose significant risks. Given the high value of assets managed on blockchain (e.g., cryptocurrencies), these vulnerabilities can lead to severe consequences. Researchers and practitioners have proposed numerous smart contract design patterns to mitigate certain faults or vulnerabilities. Despite these efforts, it remains unclear which types of defects these patterns target and how effectively they address the wide range of existing smart contract security vulnerabilities. In this paper, we review the state of the art in smart contract design patterns, categorizing them and analyzing their effectiveness in mitigating known security vulnerabilities. Our findings reveal that only five patterns directly aim to prevent security vulnerabilities, collectively addressing just 6 out of 94 security issues identified by OpenSCV (a state-of-the-art vulnerability taxonomy), highlighting the need for further research on smart contract security design patterns.

The essence of digital assets: conceptual foundations and contemporary context

Introduction. Digital assets, such as cryptocurrency, tokens and NFTs (non-fungible tokens), other digital objects are rapidly changing the economic landscape, creating new opportunities for businesses and investors. However, unresolved issues regarding their legal regulation and accounting pose serious challenges for governments, businesses and financial institutions. This problem is of particular importance as digital assets become increasingly important in the global economy. Purpose of the study. The purpose of the study is to analyze the content of digital assets in a global context, to consider their specifics and place in modern economic realities. Special attention is paid to the challenges that arise in connection with unresolved issues regarding the regulation of digital assets. Research methods. In the process of research and writing the article, the following methods were used: dialectical, systems analysis, generalization, comparison, logical. Results. The article explores the essence of digital assets as an innovative object, it is determined that despite the similarity, the terms «digital assets» and «virtual assets» have different emphases in application, understanding their differences allows us to more  accurately determine the legal status of the asset, the scope of its use and the features of accounting or regulation; digital assets cover a wider range of objects, while virtual assets are a subcategory of digital assets focused on the financial sphere. The main challenges associated with the use of digital assets in the financial and economic spheres are also highlighted. Among them are regulatory uncertainty, volatility risks, security issues and the lack of uniform accounting and financial reporting standards. The author emphasizes that the development of digital assets requires a clear legal framework and the implementation of international standards. The author predicts the growing role of digital assets in financial transactions, investments and tokenization of traditional assets. The conclusions emphasize that digital assets are not only a technological but also an economic phenomenon that transforms traditional approaches to storing and managing values. Prospects. Further study of the study of digital assets will not only allow for a deeper understanding of their nature, but will also contribute to the development of effective approaches to their regulation, integration into traditional economic processes and maximization of their potential in the modern world. The need to create unified approaches to the classification, assessment and reflection of digital assets in financial reporting is urgent. Research may include the development of new accounting standards that take into account the specifics of cryptocurrencies, tokens and NFTs.

The combination of blockchain technology and cloud computing makes it possible to create scalable solutions, which in turn assists legal firms in more efficiently managing complex data and contracts. These transitions are made easier by major cloud providers such as Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure, which offer blockchain services for the automation of legal processes.

Exploring the Application of Smart Contracts in Financial Legal Regulation

In order to solve the problem of inefficient supervision caused by market segmentation in traditional financial supervision, the application of smart contracts in financial legal supervision is proposed. Based on the demand of financial market, this paper explores the role of smart contract technology in financial regulatory platform and studies the big data processing algorithm of financial regulatory platform. The financial regulatory platform mainly adopts the random forest algorithm, in the process of processing, through the construction of the model and the operation process, and the financial data characteristic variables and data random algorithm accuracy analysis and data processing. Experimental results show that: the system crawls mainly for the website information Cathay Pacific CSMAR database, selected 22 financial indicators, the use of financial data, prediction accuracy are above 96%, indicating that the system has a good prediction function. Conclusion: The result is favorable for the company to carry out mathematical statistics, and then avoid the risk.

Decision Tree Algorithm Based Legal Liability Determination and Contract Fulfillment Path in the Execution of Smart Contracts

The ontological issues such as the concept, features, and attributes of smart contracts written in code and running on the blockchain have been the focus of research in the academic community.In this paper, we first construct a smart contract illegal behavior determination model based on the C4.5 decision tree algorithm, which realizes accurate prediction and determination of illegal behaviors existing in smart contract transactions by extracting multiple attribute features of smart contract transaction data.Then, the correlation between smart contract features and contract risk is analyzed by Pearson coefficient, and the risk assessment evaluation system of smart contract performance is constructed by using hierarchical analysis.Finally, the fulfillment path of smart contract is proposed by synthesizing all the analysis results.Among the 24 randomly selected samples, the total prediction probability of the illegal behavior determination model based on the C4.5 decision tree algorithm reaches 95.83%, which is able to effectively identify the illegal behavior of smart contracts.The Pearson chi-square value between smart contract features and contract risk is 224.6317, and the Sig.(two-tailed) value is 0.000, indicating that there is a significant correlation between the two.By constructing a smart contract risk assessment index system, this paper designs a dynamic monitoring model of smart contract fulfillment risk level, and proposes a smart contract fulfillment path from the aspects of reasonable allocation of legal responsibility and legal regulation of contract fulfillment.

Patenting of cryptocurrency and blockchain technologies: status, trends, regulatory problems

The economic and legal problems of the development of innovative technologies of the digital economy (using the example of cryptocurrency and blockchain) are studied: the issue of state regulation of cryptocurrency, the possibilities of its creation, use and limitations, the importance and prospects of their use in the modern world and in Ukraine. Cryptocurrency is one of the most promising technologies of the digital economy, which is actively developing every year, the volume of its circulation is increasing. Ukraine isamong the world leaders in the use of cryptocurrencies. In Ukraine, the Law «On Virtual Assets» was adopted, which regulates the procedure for the emergence, change, and termination of rights to a new object of civil law for Ukrainian legislation — cryptocurrency. It is shown that blockchain technology is the main technology of digitalization of social relations and legal processes in most developed legal systems of the world, which is used in the field of cryptocurrencies, smart contracts, registration of intellectual property (IP), ecommerce, and the Internet things, the economy of joint participation, etc. The connection between patents and cryptocurrency was revealed. The patenting of Blockchain, Crypto and DeFi technologies was analysed. Recently, many IP offices have revised the norms of patent legislation and the rules of examination of patent applications in order to recognize the patentability of these technologies. The best experience of legal regulation, inventive activity and the dynamics of patenting of inventions in this area in different jurisdictions (USA, EPO, China, France, Japan, South Korea), technological trends and regulatory problems are analysed. Recommendations on increasing the effectiveness of activities in this area in Ukraine have been provided. It is necessary to implement the rules of the EPO Guidelines (Guidelines for Examination) on computer-implemented inventions in the Rules for drawing up, submitting and examining an application for an invention and an application for a utility model.Cryptocurrencies and blockchain have significant potential, many companies have invested heavily in these fields, so countries' patent laws must ensure the protection of the respective investments.

The development of blockchain technology and its affiliated cryptocurrencies quickly changed the outlook for numerous industries; the most recent, however is that of the smart contract, a self-executing digital agreement whose terms of contract are followed by automatic execution on specific conditions. Yet, despite the huge potential to transform the way transactions are conducted, implementing smart contracts within blockchain and cryptocurrency systems faces a host of legal issues. The research discussed the core legal issues of smart contracts, primarily being a lack of clarity concerning the regulatory framework, lack of clear regulation of enforcement in the traditional legal system, and issues with dispute and accountability. In the same context, the article takes the reader on a journey about the intricacies involved in understanding party intent when using smart contracts. The coding of the contracts might not always capture all the nuances within an agreement. Moreover, certain issues such as the anonymity of a blockchain system, further add the complexity to define the parties at fault in breach or fraud circumstances. This study aims at understanding the junction of law and technology, to identify key barriers that need to be addressed so that smart contracts can be appropriately used in the blockchain and cryptocurrency ecosystem. This research will deliver findings on the adaptation of new digital technologies with legal frameworks for accommodating these newer digital technologies. Recommendations will then be given on how to overcome the problems that are present with the current technology.

Blockchain and AI in Digital Contracts: A Legal Review of Smart Contract Enforcement

The integration of blockchain and artificial intelligence (AI) in legal contract execution has revolutionized traditional contract enforcement mechanisms. Smart contracts, self-executing contracts with terms encoded into blockchain networks, have emerged as a transformative tool in business transactions, reducing the reliance on intermediaries and enhancing contract security. AI further enhances these contracts by providing predictive analytics, natural language processing (NLP) for contract interpretation, and automated dispute resolution mechanisms. However, despite their potential, the legal recognition and enforcement of smart contracts pose significant challenges. Jurisdictional issues, regulatory compliance, contract validity, and the limitations of blockchain immutability necessitate an in-depth analysis of the legal landscape governing smart contracts. This paper provides a comprehensive review of the legal and regulatory frameworks surrounding AI-driven smart contracts, identifying their advantages, limitations, and future prospects. The study examines case laws, real-time implementations, and the role of AI in streamlining dispute resolution. The findings reveal that while blockchain enhances contract security and AI assists in interpretation, the lack of uniform legal frameworks remains a major hurdle. Through comparative analysis of existing regulatory approaches and real-world applications, this paper outlines potential solutions for effective enforcement and dispute resolution in AI-enhanced smart contracts.

The advent of Cryptography, Blockchain, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) has resulted in tremendous improvements in a variety of fields. As the science of secure communication, cryptography protects private data through encryption, decryption, and key management. It lays the groundwork for safe operations, interaction, and data storage. Blockchain technology, known for its decentralized and irreversible ledger and transparency and tamper-resistant qualities, has revolutionized a few industries, including financial services, management of supply chains, and healthcare. It makes transactions transparent and safe, does away with the need for middlemen, and boosts accountability and confidence. AI has been able to examine large datasets, identify patterns, and generate predictions that have altered how people make decisions by using machine learning. Many industries, including healthcare, finance, and retail, have benefited from automation, optimization, and tailored experiences. Multidisciplinary research and collaboration are necessary for the efficient implementation of these technologies and integrating them has the potential to fundamentally alter industries. An exciting era of societal change and innovation is promised by the combination of the blockchain, machine learning (AI), and cryptography. It might result in a digital environment that is safer, more transparent, and more effective, which would hasten advancements in sectors like banking, healthcare, and cyber security, among others. As these technologies advance, issues like privacy, scalability, seamless integration, and ethics must be considered to facilitate the appropriate and advantageous implementation of these technologies.

Smart contracts as a type of electronic contracts, their features and problems in the electronic circulation of civil law objects

The article is devoted to the study of the features of smart contracts, which are a type of electronic contracts. Smart contracts, which are also called “smart contracts” (origin of the word “smart contract”), correspond to modern trends in digitalization and provide an effective mechanism for the implementation of business, financial and economic relations in a virtual environment. The following methods were used in the study: general logical, method of analysis and synthesis, formal-legal, comparative-legal, systemic. When comparing the so-called “technological” and legal approaches to understanding the concept of “smart contract”, the views of different groups of foreign and domestic scientists and researchers on the interpretation of this concept were analyzed. The principle of operation of a smart contract is considered on a specific example, while the way in which a smart contract operates in certain specific conditions is studied in detail and possible reasons for its failure to perform are analyzed. When analyzing the operation of smart contracts, their practical, technical, legislative problems and features were identified. Thus, the feature of immutability of a smart contract is its advantage because it excludes the intervention of the human factor. But the immutability of a smart contract is also its disadvantage because it makes it impossible to conclude additional agreements to a smart contract when certain circumstances change. Taking into account the study of the properties of a smart contract and an example of its operation, it can be stated that a smart contract can function only in a certain environment provided that the executable program code has direct and unlimited access to the objects of the smart contract. This creates integration problems of a smart contract with the objects of its operation. Thus, if the subject of a smart contract is real estate and in this regard the specified electronic contract requires notarial electronic certification and corresponding registration in the digital environment, then today in Ukraine there is an integration problem of electronic notarial certification of such contracts due to the absence and legislative uncertainty of the mechanism of electronic notarial certification and registration. Also relevant is the problem of smart contracts regarding payments under them in cryptocurrency, which also requires a legislative solution, since the legal status of cryptocurrency in Ukraine has not yet been established. Solving these problems in the future will allow for the wider use of smart contracts by their Ukrainian counterparties.

The infusion of technology across various domains, particularly in process-centric and multi-stakeholder sectors, demands transparency, accuracy, and scalability. This paper introduces a blockchain and intelligent contract-based framework for judicial case management, proposing a private-to-public blockchain approach to establish a transparent, decentralized, and robust system. An Integrated Solution for Judicial Case Management using Blockchain Technology and Smart Contracts. This paper aims to introduce a multi-blockchain structure for managing judicial cases based on smart contracts, ultimately rendering cases more transparent, distributed, and tenacious. This solution is innovative because it will leverage both private and public blockchains to satisfy the unique requirements of judicial processes, with transparent public access for authorized digital events and transactions occurring on the freely available blockchain and a three-tiered private blockchain structure to address private stakeholder interactions while ensuring that operational consistency, security, and data privacy requirements are met. Leveraging the decentralized and tamper-proof approach of blockchain and cloud computing, the framework aims to increase data security and cut down on administrative burdens. This framework offers a scalable and secure solution for modernizing judicial systems, supporting smart governance's shift towards digital transparency and accountability.
