This paper used Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) to predict the relation between variables. Our results show that financial literacy has an impact on each behavioral bias. While the behavioral biases that investigate in this study have different result in term of impact on decision-making process and the investment performance. Overconfidence, herding and anchoring are the biases that significantly influence invertorâs decision making in scope of cryptocurrency market in Indonesia. This study outcome may help investors understand and increase the awareness of investorâs investment behavior and decision-making process, and parallel to that the regulators and other stakeholders may use the insight to improve investorâs protection.

Cryptocurrency is gaining popularity worldwide, with some countries already starting to regulate and accept cryptocurrency in their financial services. Malaysiaâs Securities Commission (SC) announced in October 2021 that over MYR 16 billion (USD 3.85 billion) involving digital assets and cryptocurrencies were traded between August 2020 and September 2021. Since cryptocurrencies are issued by private corporations and are technically beyond the federal governmentâs control, criminals may use them for illegal reasons such as money laundering and terrorist funding. Consequently, it is vital to examine why investors are engaged in cryptocurrency in the first place. This study aims to provide insight into Malaysian investorsâ perceptions by evaluating the influence of perceived risk and perceived value on their cryptocurrency adoption decision. The retail investorsâ demographic characteristics (gender, age, education, income, and investment experience) were analyzed as control variables. Data were gathered using purposive sampling, and responses from 211 respondents from various cities in Malaysia were used in the final analysis. Data were examined using Smart PLS Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM). Based on the findingâs, perceived value was found to have a significant influence on cryptocurrency adoption. Meanwhile, perceived risk had no significant influence on the adoption of cryptocurrency among the Malaysian investors.

Technological development has affected the global financial industry. The use of digital currency is increasingly gaining a place among the worldâs population, so much so that there are 2486 types of digital currency on record. Scholars in Islamic finance as well as Fatwa institutions all over the world have delivered their religious decree concerning the digital currency; hence, most discussions about the use of the decree was only directed at Bitcoin as a medium of payment although some digital currencies have other functions, such as being utility and security tokens. Therefore, the decree concerning other digital currencies cannot apply the decree issued for Bitcoin only because each digital currency has a different conceptual framework. Hence, this study, which applied the qualitative approach and a descriptive research design, intended to analyse the classification of digital currencies according to their function and characteristics. The findings show that digital currency is classified into coins, currency, tokens, payment tokens, utility tokens and security or asset tokens. Coins function as a medium of payment and store of value that was developed using its own blockchain. Currency is a medium of exchange and can be exchanged with any form of money, including the crediting or debiting of an account. Tokens represent services, financial instruments or infrastructure that is developed using the blockchain technology of other digital currencies. Tokens are divided into three types according to their function, namely payment tokens, utility tokens and security or asset tokens. The classification of digital currencies provides a guideline for the public who wish to carry out transactions using digital currencies. It is important to ensure that transactions carried out in accordance with the syarak will help alleviate cases of fraud related to investment and sale of digital currencies.

The fact that cryptocurrencies are held for different business models and intentions may affect how it should be treated under accounting standards. Hence, this research aimed to examine factors that affect the accounting treatment of cryptocurrencies in Malaysia. Different factors were examined including the function of cryptocurrencies, conceptual framework of financial reporting and the legal status of cryptocurrencies. Targeted respondents involved in this research were accountants in Malaysia. Data collected were analysed using SPSS and SmartPLS 3. SPSS was mainly used to analyse the demographics of respondents whereas SmartPLS 3 was used to carry out reflective measurement model and structural model evaluation. The results concluded that all the independent variables which are the functions of cryptocurrencies, conceptual framework of financial reporting, and the legal status of cryptocurrencies have a significant relationship with the accounting treatment of cryptocurrencies. The results of this study provide an insight about factors that standards setters and financial standards should consider when accounting for cryptocurrenciesâ transactions in order to provide faithful representation and relevant information. Some limitations and suggestions are included in this research to provide ideas for future researchers to carry out further research. Keywords: Cryptocurrencies, Accounting Treatment"

In this paper we analyse the advantages that the application of blockchain technology brings to accounting information systems (AIS), but also highlight the potential issues with its use. We examine the use of blockchain against the background of the historical evolution of AIS and explain the operational fit of this technology in AIS. We then analyse the pros and cons of the highly probable use of blockchain technology in AIS. For this purpose, we review the relevant contributions on this subject in the accounting academic literature to date and classify them into four categories on the basis of their focus: governance, transparency and trust; continuous audit; smart contracts; and roles of accountants and auditors. We also analyse the early reactions of the accounting industry and regulators to this new technological environment.
