Cuproof: Range Proof with Constant Size

Cong Deng, Lin You, Xianghong Tang, Gengran Hu · 5 authors

Zero-Knowledge Proof is widely used in blockchains. For example, zk-SNARK is used in Zcash as its core technology to identifying transactions without the exposure of the actual transaction values. Up to now, various range proofs have been proposed, and their efficiency and range-flexibility have also been improved. Bootle et al. used the inner product method and recursion to construct an efficient Zero-Knowledge Proof in 2016. Later, Benediky Bünz et al. proposed an efficient range proof scheme called Bulletproofs, which can convince the verifier that a secret number lies in [0,2κ−1] with κ being a positive integer. By combining the inner-product and Lagrange’s four-square theorem, we propose a range proof scheme called Cuproof. Our Cuproof can make a range proof to show that a secret number v lies in an interval [a,b] with no exposure of the real value v or other extra information leakage about v. It is a good and practical method to protect privacy and information security. In Bulletproofs, the communication cost is 6+2logκ, while in our Cuproof, all the communication cost, the proving time and the verification time are of constant sizes.

Maintain the Persistence of a Distributed Ledger for Future Generations

Thomas Osterland, Thomas Rose

Blockchain or distributed ledger technology (DLT) guarantees revision safety of transaction logs independent from usage scenarios. Thus, trust is ensured by DLT in a long-term perspective. Hence, one can pose the question, whether DLT is an attractive technology for long-term archiving of data. In this paper we juxtapose distributed ledger and data preservation approaches as two candidates for continuous archival workings. We show that, although the DLT seems to be a viable solution for the long-term preservation of data from a naive perspective, long time effects and efficiency considerations prevent the effective use of DLTs. We discuss hidden costs of transactions, that are not reflected in current price structures. We conclude that data stored on the distributed ledger might not be as preserved for future generations as usually assumed. In fact, data preservation in an archivist's perspective resembles the trust preservation in DLTs.

Secure Healthcare Record Sharing Mechanism with Blockchain

Ghulam Qadar Butt, Toqeer Ali Sayed, Rabia Riaz, Sanam Shahla Rizvi · 5 authors

The transfer of information is a demanding issue, particularly due to the presence of a large number of eavesdroppers on communication channels. Sharing medical service records between different clinical jobs is a basic and testing research topic. The particular characteristics of blockchains have attracted a large amount of attention and resulted in revolutionary changes to various business applications, including medical care. A blockchain is based on a distributed ledger, which tends to improve cyber security. A number of proposals have been made with respect to the sharing of basic medical records using a blockchain without needing earlier information or the trust of patients. Specialist service providers and insurance agencies are not secure against data breaches. The safe sharing of clinical records between different countries, to ensure an incorporated and universal medical service, is also a significant issue for patients who travel. The medical data of patients normally reside on different healthcare units around the world, thus raising many concerns. Firstly, a patient’s history of treatment by different physicians is not accessible to the doctor in a single location. Secondly, it is very difficult to secure widespread data residing in different locations. This study proposed record sharing in a chain-like structure, in which every record is globally connected to the others, based on a blockchain under the suggestions and recommendations of the HL7 standards. This study focused on making medical data available, especially of patients who travel in different countries, for a specific period of time after validating the required authentication. Authorization and authentication are performed on the Shibboleth identity management system with the involvement of patient in the sanction process, thereby revealing the patient data for the specific period of time. The proposed approach improves the performance with respect to other record sharing systems, e.g., it reduces the time to read, write, delete, and revoke a record by a noticeable margin. The proposed system takes around three seconds to upload and 7.5 s to download 250 Mb of data, which can contain up to sixteen documents, over a stable network connection. The system has a latency of 413.76 ms when retrieving 100 records, compared to 447.9 and 459.3 ms in previous systems. Thus, the proposed system improved the performance and ensured seclusion by using a blockchain.

DECLOAK: Enable Secure and Cheap Multi-Party Transactions on Legacy Blockchains by a Minimally Trusted TEE Network

Qian Ren, Yue Li, Yingjun Wu, Yuchen Wu · 7 authors

As the confidentiality and scalability of smart contracts have become a crucial demand of blockchains, off-chain contract execution frameworks have been promising. Some have recently expanded off-chain contracts to Multi-Party Computation (MPC), which seek to transition the on-chain states by off-chain MPC. The most general problem among these solutions is MPT, since its off-chain MPC takes on- and off-chain inputs, delivers on- and off-chain outputs, and can be publicly verified by the blockchain, thus capable of covering more scenarios. However, existing Multi-Party Transaction (MPT) solutions lack at least one of data availability, financial fairness, delivery fairness, and delivery atomicity. These properties are crucially valued by communities, e.g., the Ethereum community, or users. Even worse, these solutions require high-cost interactions between the blockchain and off-chain systems. This paper proposes a novel MPT-enabled off-chain contract execution framework, DECLOAK. DECLOAK is the first to achieve data availability of MPT, and our method can apply to other fields that seek to persist user data on-chain. Moreover, DECLOAK solves all mentioned shortcomings with even lower gas costs and weaker assumptions. Specifically, DECLOAK tolerates all but one Byzantine party and TEE executors. Evaluating on 10 MPTs, DECLOAK reduces the gas cost of the SOTA, Cloak, by 65.6%. Consequently, we are the first to not only achieve such level secure MPT in practical assumption, but also demonstrate that evaluating MPT in the comparable gas cost to normal Ethereum transaction is possible. And the cost superiority of DECLOAK increases as the number of MPT parties grows.

Blockchain based hierarchical semi-decentralized approach using IPFS for secure and efficient data sharing

Smita Athanere, Ramesh Thakur

Nowadays, cloud servers are gathering an increasing amount of data. Data is commonly stored on cloud servers in the form of ciphertext to protect security and concealment of data. When a consumer requests to access of encrypted data , a third party must provide an access key. The system's security, however, will be compromised if the third party or internal personnel are dishonest. To address this issue, a novel blockchain-based secure decentralized system using IPFS is proposed in this research for secure data transfer. Because all participant of system model are recorded the every action on the chain, and the continuously extending chain makes it conditionally difficult to modify any block without being detected, a blockchain based system is often regarded as a safe platform. In the proposed approach, the data owner uploads an encrypted file to IPFS, which is subsequently separated into n secret sections called hash codes for data security. The data owner must additionally write the access permissions in order to achieve access to this secure data. For security, the system uses two-level key management: first, the data owner encrypts the file, and then the IPFS server makes a hash code of that encrypted file. The proposed solution, which employs blockchain technology, enables consumers to be handled across several domains, erase the single-point failure in traditional centralized systems, and overhead related to communication and computation are decreased at the consumer level. According to the security analysis, the proposed system might effectively resist single and collaboratively malicious persons, as well as untrustworthy cloud servers.

A Consortium Blockchain-Based Secure and Trusted Electronic Portfolio Management Scheme

Mpyana Mwamba Merlec, Md. Mainul Islam, Youn Kyu Lee, Hoh Peter In

In recent times, electronic portfolios (e-portfolios) are being increasingly used by students and lifelong learners as digital online multimedia résumés that showcase their skill sets and achievements. E-portfolios require secure, reliable, and privacy-preserving credential issuance and verification mechanisms to prove learning achievements. However, existing systems provide private institution-wide centralized solutions that primarily rely on trusted third parties to issue and verify credentials. Furthermore, they do not enable learners to own, control, and share their e-portfolio information across organizations, which increases the risk of forged and fraudulent credentials. Therefore, we propose a consortium blockchain-based e-portfolio management scheme that is decentralized, secure, and trustworthy. Smart contracts are leveraged to enable learners to completely own, publish, and manage their e-portfolios, and also enable potential employers to verify e-portfolio credentials and artifacts without relying on trusted third parties. Blockchain is used as an immutable distributed ledger that records all transactions and logs for tamper-proof trusted data provenance, accountability, and traceability. This system guarantees the authenticity and integrity of user credentials and e-portfolio data. Decentralized identifiers and verifiable credentials are used for user profile identification, authentication, and authorization, whereas verifiable claims are used for e-portfolio credential proof authentication and verification. We have designed and implemented a prototype of the proposed scheme using a Quorum consortium blockchain network. Based on the evaluations, our solution is feasible, secure, and privacy-preserving. It offers excellent performance.

Certificateless Reliable and Privacy-Preserving Auditing of Group Shared Data for FOG-CPSs

Manohar Sai Burra, Soumyadev Maity

FOG-enabled cyber-physical systems (FOG-CPSs) open new security challenges as the local edge devices are easier to compromise than a traditional cloud server. Remote data integrity checking (RDIC) plays an important role in safeguarding against data corruption from a storage server. Certificateless cryptography (CLPKC)-based RDIC schemes do not suffer from the drawbacks of the public key infrastructure (PKI)-based RDIC protocols. Most of the CLPKC-based RDIC schemes proposed in the literature deal with personal data. However, in a FOG-CPS, it is also important to audit a data file shared by a group of edge devices. Most of the existing group shared data auditing schemes lack mechanisms to defend against a semi-trusted data auditor applicable for a FOG-CPS scenario. In order to address these issues, in this paper, we propose a novel CLPKC-based group shared data auditing protocol tailored to the specific security requirements of a FOG-CPS. Besides, we perform a detailed cryptanalysis of two existing CLPKC-based privacy-preserving group shared data auditing schemes. The formal security analysis of our proposed protocol establishes metadata and data integrity proof unforgeability and claimed zero-knowledge privacy and reliability properties through rigorous proofs in the random oracle model setting. Performance evaluations establish the efficiency of our proposed protocol.

Blockchain-Based Proof of Retrievability Scheme

Yan Ren, Haipeng Guan, Qiuxia Zhao, Zongxiang Yi

In the internet of things, user information is usually collected by all kinds of smart devices. The collected user information is stored in the cloud storage, and there is a risk of information leakage. In order to protect the security and the privacy of user information, the user and cloud provider will periodically execute a protocol called proof of retrievability scheme. A proof of retrievability scheme ensures the security of the data by generating proof to convince the user that the cloud provider does correctly store the user information. In this paper, we construct a proof of retrievability scheme using the blockchain technology. Using the advantage that the stored data cannot be tampered with in blockchain, this ensures the integrity of the data. Specifically, some related definitions, security models, and a blockchain-based construction of a proof of retrievability scheme are given. Then the validity and security of the scheme are proved later. As a result, user information can be protected by our scheme.

Enterprise Data Sharing with Privacy-Preserved Based on Hyperledger Fabric Blockchain in IIOT’s Application

Chin‐Ling Chen, Jiaxin Yang, Woei-Jiunn Tsaur, Wei Weng · 6 authors

Internet of Things (IoT) technology is now widely used in energy, healthcare, services, transportation, and other fields. With the increase in industrial equipment (e.g., smart mobile terminals, sensors, and other embedded devices) in the Internet of Things and the advent of Industry 4.0, there has been an explosion of data generated that is characterized by a high volume but small size. How to manage and protect sensitive private data in data sharing has become an urgent issue for enterprises. Traditional data sharing and storage relies on trusted third-party platforms or distributed cloud storage, but these approaches run the risk of single-node failure, and third parties and cloud storage providers can be vulnerable to attacks that can lead to data theft. To solve these problems, this paper proposes a Hyperledger Fabric blockchain-based secure data transfer scheme for enterprises in the Industrial Internet of Things (IIOT). We store raw data in the IIoT in the InterPlanetary File System (IPFS) network after encryption and store the Keyword-index table we designed in Hyperledger Fabric blockchain, and enterprises share the data by querying the Keyword-index table. We use Fabric's channel mechanism combined with our designed Chaincode to achieve privacy protection and efficient data transmission while using the Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm (ECDSA) to ensure data integrity. Finally, we performed security analysis and experiments on the proposed scheme, and the results show that overall the data transfer performance in the IPFS network is generally better than the traditional network, In the case of transferring 5 MB file size data, the transmission speed and latency of IPFS are 19.23 mb/s and 0.26 s, respectively, and the IPFS network is almost 4 times faster than the TCP/IP network while taking only a quarter of the time, which is more advantageous when transferring small files, such as data in the IIOT. In addition, our scheme outperforms the blockchain systems mainly used today in terms of both throughput, latency, and system overhead. The average throughput of our solution can reach 110 tps (transactions are executed per second), and the minimum throughput in experimental tests can reach 101 tps.

Secure Blockchain Interworking Using Extended Smart Contract

Shingo Fujimoto, Takuma Takeuchi, Yoshiki Higashikado

Blockchain is a distributed ledger technology used for trading digital assets, such as cryptocurrency, and trail records that need to be audited by third parties. The use cases of blockchain are expanding beyond cryptocurrency management. In particular, the token economy, in which tokenized assets are exchanged across different blockchain ledgers, is gaining popularity. Cross-chain technologies such as atomic swap have emerged as security technologies to realize this new use case of blockchain. However, existing approaches of cross-chain technology have unresolved issues, such as application limitations on different blockchain platforms owing to the incompatibility of the communication interface and crypto algorithm and inability to handle a complex business logic such as the escrow trade. In this study, the ConnectionChain is proposed, which enables the execution of an extended smart contract using abstracted operation on interworking ledgers. Moreover, field experimental results using the system prototype are presented and explained.

Toward Data Integrity Architecture for Cloud-Based AI Systems

Elizabeth Nathania Witanto, Yustus Eko Oktian, Sang-Gon Lee

AI has been implemented in many sectors such as security, health, finance, national defense, etc. However, together with AI’s groundbreaking improvement, some people exploit AI to do harmful things. In parallel, there is rapid development in cloud computing technology, introducing a cloud-based AI system. Unfortunately, the vulnerabilities in cloud computing will also affect the security of AI services. We observe that compromising the training data integrity means compromising the results in the AI system itself. From this background, we argue that it is essential to keep the data integrity in AI systems. To achieve our goal, we build a data integrity architecture by following the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) cybersecurity framework guidance. We also utilize blockchain technology and smart contracts as a suitable solution to overcome the integrity issue because of its shared and decentralized ledger. Smart contracts are used to automate policy enforcement, keep track of data integrity, and prevent data forgery. First, we analyze the possible vulnerabilities and attacks in AI and cloud environments. Then we draw out our architecture requirements. The final result is that we present five modules in our proposed architecture that fulfilled NIST framework guidance to ensure continuous data integrity provisioning towards secure AI environments.

Using blockchain and semantic web technologies for the implementation of smart contracts between individuals and health insurance organizations

Efthymios Chondrogiannis, Vassiliki Andronikou, Efstathios Karanastasis, Αντώνιος Λίτκε · 5 authors

Blockchains and smart contracts are gaining momentum as enabling technologies for a wide set of applications where data distribution and sharing among decentralized infrastructures is required. In this work, we present a distributed application developed using blockchain technologies that allows individuals and health insurance organizations to come into agreement during the implementation of the healthcare insurance policies in each contract. For this purpose, health standards and semantic web technologies were used for the formal expression of both the insured individual's data and contract terms. Accordingly, a fine-grained data access policy was applied for evaluating contract terms on the basis of relevant data captured in healthcare settings. A prototype was implemented involving the development of several different smart contracts for the Ethereum platform as well as the necessary visual environment for accessing them. The developed system validates various features related to blockchain and smart contract features that are briefly discussed in this work, part of which can be mitigated or resolved through the use of a private permissioned blockchain. The application of well-established techniques for potential malfunctions of external services could also boost the security of the system and prevent it from potential attacks.

Blockchain-based model to track and verify official certificates

Pooja Mara ., Ravi kanth Motupalli .

Document verification is a complicated domain with a variety of difficult and time-consuming methods to validate. Customized verification and authentication processes may be required for various sorts of papers, such as financial papers, government papers, transaction papers, educational credentials, and so on. A huge problem today we are facing is the number of fake certificates that are in circulation, this problem is quite predominant. This has become a new business for a long time. Hardworking people with genuine degrees/certificates have been suffering and they get rejected in the job market because of the lack of identification to differentiate between the original and the fake certificate. At times people are getting jobs through fake certificates and this becomes very dangerous. The scenario calls for a new system that can verify and authenticate certificates, their issuers, and their holders in a way that is much more efficient, simple, and intuitive to use, and efficiently mitigates widespread credential fraud. To combat the counterfeiting of academic certificates, our blockchain approach combines a verified distributed ledger with a cryptographic mechanism. Our Blockchain technology will also provide a standard sharing platform for storing and accessing documents, reducing overall verification time and allowing companies to quickly monitor and access real papers. Our system that helps to identify original certificates will help the hard-earned people to get their jobs in their desired organizations and all the fake circulation of certificates will be stopped because the system identifies the genuine true certificates.

A blockchain-based secure storage scheme for medical information

Zhijie Sun, Dezhi Han, Dun Li, Xiangsheng Wang · 6 authors

Abstract Medical data involves a large amount of personal information and is highly privacy sensitive. In the age of big data, the increasing informatization of healthcare makes it vital that medical information is stored securely and accurately. However, current medical information is subject to the risk of privacy leakage and difficult to share. To address these issues, this paper proposes a healthcare information security storage solution based on hyperledger fabric and the attribute-based access control framework. The scheme first utilizes attribute-based access control, which allows dynamic and fine-grained access to medical information, and then stores the medical information in the blockchain, which can be secured and tamper-proof by formulating corresponding smart contracts. In addition, this solution also incorporates IPFS technology to relieve the storage pressure of the blockchain. Experiments show that the proposed scheme combining access control of attributes and blockchain technology in this paper can not only ensure the secure storage and integrity of medical information but also has a high throughput when accessing medical information

Design and Implementation Considerations of POA Network Architecture in the Ethereum Blockchain

P. Shamili, Muruganantham B.

The upcoming technology in creating the distributed applications for different use cases in real world applications are Blockchain technologies. The application may be private or public depending upon the use cases. Most of the applications are built by using the Ethereum platform in blockchain for use of security purpose. The nodes in the distributed network shares all the data to the other nodes without any modification of the data in the blockchain technology. The transactions done by the nodes were trusted through the digital signatures. Here, no central control or the central system will be there to keep track of other nodes data. In this paper, we built the POA network by using the Ethereum blockchain platform. The network is called the Proof of Authority and its main purpose is to deploy the contracts especially with authority in the Ethereum blockchain platform. We also explained about the ERC20 tokens, the working process of using the POA network and the codes for connecting with the web page.

On the adoption of blockchain for business process monitoring

Claudio Di Ciccio, Giovanni Meroni, Pierluigi Plebani

Abstract Being the blockchain and distributed ledger technologies particularly suitable to create trusted environments where participants do not trust each other, business process management represents a proper setting in which these technologies can be adopted. In this direction, current research work primarily focuses on blockchain-oriented business process design, or on execution engines able to enact processes through smart contracts. Conversely, less attention has been paid to study if and how blockchains can be beneficial to business process monitoring. This work aims to fill this gap by (1) providing a reference architecture for enabling the adoption of blockchain technologies in business process monitoring solutions, (2) defining a set of relevant research challenges derived from this adoption, and (3) discussing the current approaches to address the aforementioned challenges.

Privacy Preservation in Patient Information Exchange Systems Based on Blockchain: System Design Study

Sejong Lee, Jaehyeon Kim, Yongseok Kwon, Teasung Kim · 5 authors

BACKGROUND: With the increasing sophistication of the medical industry, various advanced medical services such as medical artificial intelligence, telemedicine, and personalized health care services have emerged. The demand for medical data is also rapidly increasing today because advanced medical services use medical data such as user data and electronic medical records (EMRs) to provide services. As a result, health care institutions and medical practitioners are researching various mechanisms and tools to feed medical data into their systems seamlessly. However, medical data contain sensitive personal information of patients. Therefore, ensuring security while meeting the demand for medical data is a very important problem in the information age for which a solution is required. OBJECTIVE: Our goal is to design a blockchain-based decentralized patient information exchange (PIE) system that can safely and efficiently share EMRs. The proposed system preserves patients' privacy in the EMRs through a medical information exchange process that includes data encryption and access control. METHODS: We propose a blockchain-based EMR-sharing system that allows patients to manage their EMRs scattered across multiple hospitals and share them with other users. Our PIE system protects the patient's EMR from security threats such as counterfeiting and privacy attacks during data sharing. In addition, it provides scalability by using distributed data-sharing methods to quickly share an EMR, regardless of its size or type. We implemented simulation models using Hyperledger Fabric, an open source blockchain framework. RESULTS: We performed a simulation of the EMR-sharing process and compared it with previous works on blockchain-based medical systems to check the proposed system's performance. During the simulation, we found that it takes an average of 0.01014 (SD 0.0028) seconds to download 1 MB of EMR in our proposed PIE system. Moreover, it has been confirmed that data can be freely shared with other users regardless of the size or format of the data to be transmitted through the distributed data-sharing technique using the InterPlanetary File System. We conducted a security analysis to check whether the proposed security mechanism can effectively protect users of the EMR-sharing system from security threats such as data forgery or unauthorized access, and we found that the distributed ledger structure and re-encryption-based data encryption method can effectively protect users' EMRs from forgery and privacy leak threats and provide data integrity. CONCLUSIONS: Blockchain is a distributed ledger technology that provides data integrity to enable patient-centered health information exchange and access control. PIE systems integrate and manage fragmented patient EMRs through blockchain and protect users from security threats during the data exchange process among users. To increase safety and efficiency in the EMR-sharing process, we used access control using security levels, data encryption based on re-encryption, and a distributed data-sharing scheme.

Towards Trustworthy DeFi Oracles: Past,Present and Future

Yinjie Zhao, Xin Kang, Tieyan Li, Cheng‐Kang Chu · 5 authors

With the rapid development of blockchain technology in recent years, all kinds of blockchain-based applications have emerged. Among them, the decentralized finance (DeFi) is one of the most successful applications, which is regarded as the future of finance. The great success of DeFi relies on the real-world data which is not directly available on the blockchain. Besides, due to the deterministic nature of blockchain, the blockchain cannot directly obtain in-deterministic data from the outside world (off-chain). Thus, oracles have appeared as a viable solution to feed off-chain data to blockchain applications. In this paper, we carryout a comprehensive study on oracles, especially on DeFi oracles. We first briefly introduce the application scenarios of DeFi oracles, and then we talk about the past of DeFi oracles by categorizing them into several types based on their design features. After that, we introduce five popular DeFi oracles currently in use(such as Chainlink and Band Protocol), with the focus on their system architecture, data validation process, and their incentive mechanisms. We compare these present DeFi oracles from their data trustworthiness, data source trustworthiness and their overall trust models. Finally, we propose a set of metrics for designing trustworthiness DeFi oracles, and propose a potential trust architecture and a few promising techniques for building trustworthiness oracles.

TVS: a trusted verification scheme for office documents based on blockchain

Xue Zhai, Shanchen Pang, Min Wang, Sibo Qiao · 5 authors

Abstract To realize the encryption of document information, authority authentication, and traceability of historical records, we propose a trusted verification scheme (TVS) for office documents to ensure security. Specifically, the scheme is realized by timestamps, smart contracts (or chaincode), and other blockchain technologies. It is based on the features of blockchain, such as security, credibility, immutability, and traceability of network behavior. And the TVS stores users and documents information through blockchain; it can monitor the state changes of office documents in real time by setting the trigger conditions of smart contracts. The experiment indicates that we have realized the real-time monitoring of data and the traceability of historical records. Moreover, we have achieved the purpose of document encryption and authority authentication, ensuring the authenticity and objectivity of data, avoiding the illegal tampering of malicious users to realize the trusted verification for documents.

Sugeng Widada, Warseno, Sugina, Sulthan Taqi Sampoerna Alfian

Blockchain has been an interesting area of exploration for some time and the advantages it provides have been exploited by a variety of different businesses. Basically, the medical service area has benefited greatly from blockchain innovations due to safety, security, confidentiality and decentralization. Overall, the Electronic Wellbeing Record (EHR) system addresses issues related to information security, honesty and fairness. In this paper, we talk about how blockchain innovation can be used to change the EHR framework and can be the answer to this problem. We present a system that can be used for the implementation of blockchain innovations in the field of medical services for EHR. The essence of our proposed system is first and foremost to implement blockchain innovations for EHR and in addition to provide secure electronic records capacity by characterizing granular access rules for clients of the proposed structure. Moreover, this structure also speaks to the flexibility issue that blockchain innovation sees as a whole through the use of the off-chain capacity of the record. This structure gives the EHR framework the advantage of having a blockchain-based setup that is versatile, secure, and basic. The information on the blockchain is apparent to everybody that is available on the chain this makes the information weak which is anything but an ideal result for a decentralized stage.

Blockchain-based Power Digital Asset Security Management Framework

Caijun Zhang, Kaiqiang Xian, Qianjun Wu, Huafei Yang · 6 authors

Due to the hierarchical management structure of electric power enterprises, data flow often needs to go through multiple layers of nodes for review, which makes data synchronization slow and distortion high and data reliability difficult to improve. The existing data asset management mode of electric power enterprises faces security problems such as node trustworthiness and data tampering in the process of identity mutual trust, transmission and storage, data collection and data usage. In view of this, this paper proposes a blockchain-based digital asset management framework using the decentralized, untrustworthy, and hard-to-tamper features of blockchain. In the proposed framework, we optimized security authentication mechanism, data recording and consensus process, and data storage and transmission strategy involved in blockchain data sharing applications. The framework can effectively ensure the security, integrity, operability and consistency of digital assets in the management process under the blockchain environment.

Use of blockchain in health sensor networks to secure information integrity and accountability

Kithmini Godawatte, Philip Branch, Jason But

Accountability and integrity are likely to play a key role in emerging health sensor network environments. Since health sensor devices are low capability devices, they are particularly susceptible to modern cyber threats. Blockchain technology is an emerging security technology that was explored by researchers in the past few years. Blockchain technology has been designed to protect information integrity and accountability. In a distributed manner making forgery and destruction of data can be very difficult. In this survey paper, we are specifically focused on how blockchain platforms adopt to the healthcare industry and achieve data integrity and accountability. Also, we will discuss the benefits and challenges of blockchain technology, and future blockchain research directions. Blockchain technology can be used to prevent unauthorized information access and enhance the security of sensor data. The use of blockchain technology in health sensor networks may address many of the integrity and accountability concerns of health sensor networks.
