Sistem E-Voting berbasis Blockchain dengan Autentikasi Biometrik Sidik Jari dan Protokol Zero-Knowledge Proof Untuk Pengaman Privasi

Nurhajar Anugraha, Muhammad Riswanto, Lindawati Lindawati, Asrul Asrul

Implementation of Blockchain Technology in E-Voting Using Smart Contract and ZK-SNARK

Jimmy Jimmy, Kenny Rimba, Vincent Vincent, Ronsen Purba · 5 authors

E-voting systems are prone to challenges such as lack of transparency, risks of data manipulation, and dependence on centralized authorities, which can undermine trust in electoral processes. This research develops a blockchain-based e-voting system on the Polygon network, leveraging smart contracts and Zero-Knowledge Succinct Non-Interactive Argument of Knowledge (ZK-SNARK) to enhance security, transparency, and voter anonymity. The study employs an application development approach, implementing a structured methodology with initialization, registration, voting, and tallying phases. Smart contracts automate voter verification, vote casting, and result tabulation, while ZK-SNARK ensures voters can cast ballots anonymously without revealing their identities. The system’s transparency and immutability are tested using PolygonScan, demonstrating effective prevention of manipulations like double voting through cryptographic credentials (nullifier, commitment, and nullifier hash) and Merkle Tree structures. Results indicate that the system provides a secure, verifiable, and decentralized framework for elections. This implementation offers a robust foundation for future e-voting systems, promoting trust and integrity in digital voting processes.

Blockchain-Based Secure Voting System

Shwetha K R, Divya G S, Bhavan Pande, Darshan K · 6 authors

Due to the ever-increasing demand to use safe and reliable electronic votes, a blockchain-based secure voting system has been developed to enhance transparency, trustfulness, and voter recognition. This system eliminates such issues as voting fraud, impersonation, and manipulating the results by means of biometric verification and decentralized blockchain ledger. The voters are matched to a facial-recognition database containing previously registered voters before voting. It is authenticated by a K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN) approach as it works well on classifying facial features and is not very laborious. After the vote is successfully authenticated, it is stored and signed on a blockchain network where it cannot be altered by another party. The features of smart contracts ensure the safety of voting, the correct counting of votes, and the awareness of each network node of what is happening. The cryptography of hashing and decentralized make certain that the votes are immutable, due to the decentralized structure of blockchain and consensus mechanisms. The face-matching module ensures that only the qualified individuals are allowed to vote. The system also supports mass elections and guarantees the ease of interaction among the voters. It was designed in such a way that it is scalable and user friendly. Trust, security, and efficiency are enhanced in the system through biometrical authentication, distributed ledger technology, encryption, and classification through machine-learning. It is highly dependable in how to conduct the current digital elections.

A Blockchain Based Secure and Privacy Preserving Smart E-Government Application Execution System with Reduced Service Completion Delay

Nasif Imtiaz, Mahfuzulhoq Chowdhury

In today's world, e-government services are critical for assisting citizens with their daily activities such as visa applications, tax submission, emergency security assistance, and electronic tendering. By combining blockchain and IoT technologies, e-government services can be made far more secure and efficient. Existing e-government applications suffered from a number of limitations, including a lack of privacy and security, increased job processing time, a lack of coordination among various parties, and a lack of services. More specifically, they did not conduct simultaneous investigations into citizen service, employee service, and business service while comparing performance. To conquer these issues, this article proposes a decentralized blockchain-based secure and privacy-preserving smart e-government system that considers the interactions between informers, government, smart contracts, MetaMask-based public and private wallets, Ethereum, and the Interplanetary File System. We investigated the time and cost delays associated with employee, business, and citizen services in the proposed blockchain-based e-government system. This paper provides appropriate security measures for mitigating malware attacks, DDoS attacks, and Sybil attacks. Our simulation results show that the proposed blockchain-based e-government system can reduce the completion time of existing works by at least 33%. Abstract: This e-commerce platform is specifically designed for agriculture-based trade, leveraging advanced blockchain technology and decentralized file storage to create a transparent, secure, and efficient marketplace for farmers, buyers, and suppliers. The platform utilizes Ganache, a simulation of Ethereum transactions, to ensure that all transactions are secure, immutable, and verifiable on the blockchain. The decentralized architecture is further enhanced with IPFS (Interplanetary File System), enabling farmers to securely store their product information, including images and descriptions, in a way that prevents alteration or loss. This ensures that the product listings are transparent and tamper-proof. The platform also incorporates cryptocurrency payments, enabling fast, secure, and borderless transactions between buyers and sellers. Utilizing smart contracts, the system automates payment flows based on predefined conditions, reducing the reliance on intermediaries and minimizing fraud risks. This fosters a trusted environment for agricultural trade, where both buyers and sellers can engage in transparent, efficient, and secure transactions. In addition to these core features, the platform includes a staking mechanism, allowing users to lock tokens to gain transaction privileges, influence governance decisions, and access premium features. This incentivizes long-term commitment and creates a sense of ownership within the platform. Active participants, such as those verifying transactions or maintaining data integrity, are rewarded with tokens, further promoting continuous engagement. The system also supports multilingual user interfaces, making it accessible to a global audience, and includes real-time updates for seamless interaction. Through transparent governance, decentralized voting, and economic incentives, the platform ensures a resilient and future-ready ecosystem for agro-commerce, empowering stakeholders to participate in decision-making and market dynamics, while addressing the challenges faced by farmers in accessing reliable markets and efficient payment systems.

Researching Zero-Knowledge Proof in Blockchain Ecosystems for Enhanced Voting Transparency in Catalyst Voting Process—A Potential Application

Edet Ekpenyong, Ubio Obu, Godspower Emmanuel Achi, Clement Umoh · 6 authors

In blockchain ecosystems, maintaining transparency and privacy has become an ethical dilemma. This is because, while certain specific information of the user is shared to ensure transparency of transactions across networks, such information could be detrimental to the user, as there is a possibility of it being tampered with. For instance, in the Catalyst voting process in Cardano, users can still see the amount of ADA tokens being held by other users, which can influence their voting options, especially when large ADA holders vote in support of certain ideas or proposals. To discourage such challenges as voter manipulation and vote buying, this study proposed the implementation of zero-knowledge proof (ZKP) in blockchain ecosystems to enhance the transparency of the catalyst voting process and enhance efficiency and speed of result release. Using survey questionnaire and a multivocal literature review, this study was able to proof that ZKP cannot only be applied in the catalyst voting process to enhance its transparency, but also addressed potential challenges to its applications such as scalability, encourage trust and fairness of the voting system, and improve voter participation due to its user-friendliness. Mathematical models emphasize scaled voting as optimal for balancing inclusion and plutocratic control.

Blockchain TECHNOLOGY in the Fight Against Counterfeiting: A New Era OF Authentication

S. S. (S) Rajest, R. (R) Regin

The role of counterfeit goods in the industrial industries has grown in recent years. Name recognition, sales, and bottom line results are all impacted. Authentic products can be located and counterfeit goods can be identified with the use of blockchain technology. Distributed ledger technology, also known as blockchain, is a digital system that records transactions in a decentralised database using a system of interconnected blocks. Since blockchain technology is impenetrable, no one block can be altered or compromised. Customers and users can verify the safety of a product without depending on other users thanks to blockchain technology. As mobile and wireless technologies continue to evolve, this investigation finds that rapid response (QR) codes offer a strong tool in the fight against product counterfeiting. Using a QR code scanner that is connected to a blockchain can help identify counterfeit products. One possible usage of this system is to create unique codes for products and store them in the database as blocks. It takes the user's one-of-a-kind code and checks it against records in the blockchain ledger. A notification will be sent to the consumer if the code matches. In any other case, the buyer will be alerted that the goods is counterfeit.

DESIGN OF A WORDPRESS BASED E-COMMERCE WEBSITE AND INTEGRATION OF CRYPTOCURRENCY PAYMENT GATEWAY

Restu Anggoro, Erliyan Redy Susanto

The Internet has become one of the main media, especially e-commerce transactions, which are increasingly popular and play an important role in the growth of online businesses. The RestLyfe store uses the Itemku platform, which uses a Business to Customer (B2C) and Customer to Customer (C2C) model, to sell digital products such as digital vouchers and game keys. However, some of the issues faced when using the platform include high costs, limited market reach, and payment methods that can only be used by certain customers. Building an e-commerce website and adding a cryptocurrency payment gateway will hopefully solve these problems. To achieve this goal, an e-commerce website based on the WordPress content management system (CMS) with the WooCommerce plugin will be built. This plugin will incorporate a cryptocurrency payment gateway and facilitate transaction design. To collect related data, observation and literature review were conducted. The waterfall model System Life Cycle Development (SDLC) method will be used to build the e-commerce website. The results and conclusions of this study show that the website built can solve the problem with implementation results that meet the needs of the initial analysis, and the results of black box testing conducted on the website show good results. In addition, this study demonstrates the use of modern sales strategies for cryptocurrencies and the optimization of the latest technologies. Thus, the e-commerce site offers more opportunities to reach the target market and meet the needs of an increasingly digitized market.

Crypto-sentiment Detection in Malay Text Using Language Models with an Attention Mechanism

Nur Azmina Mohamad Zamani, Norhaslinda Kamaruddin

Background: Due to the increased interest in cryptocurrencies, opinions on cryptocurrency-related topics are shared on news and social media. The enormous amount of sentiment data that is frequently released makes data processing and analytics on such important issues more challenging. In addition, the present sentiment models in the cryptocurrency domain are primarily focused on English with minimal work on Malay language, further complicating problems. Objective: The performance of the sentiment regression model to forecast sentiment scores for Malay news and tweets is examined in this study. Methods: Malay news headlines and tweets on Bitcoin and Ethereum are used as the input. A hybrid Generalized Autoregressive Pretraining for Language Understanding (XLNet) language model in combination with Bidirectional-Gated Recurrent Unit (Bi-GRU) deep learning model is applied in the proposed sentiment regression implementation. The effectiveness of the proposed sentiment regression model is also investigated using the multi-head self-attention mechanism. Then, a comparison analysis using Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers (BERT) is carried out. Results: The experimental results demonstrate that the number of attention heads is vital in improving the XLNet-GRU sentiment model performance. There are slight improvements of 0.03 in the adjusted R2 values with an average MAE of 0.163 (Malay news) and 0.174 (Malay tweets). In addition, an average RMSE of 0.267 and 0.255 were obtained respectively for Malay news and tweets, which show that the proposed XLNet-GRU sentiment model outperforms the BERT sentiment model with lesser prediction errors. Conclusion: The proposed model contributes to predicting sentiment on cryptocurrency. Moreover, this study also introduced two carefully curated Malay corpora, CryptoSentiNews-Malay and CryptoSentiTweets-Malay, which are extracted from news and tweets, respectively. Further works to enhance Malay news and tweets corpora on cryptocurrency-related issues will be expended with implementing the proposed XLNet Bi-GRU deep learning model for greater financial insight. Prediksi Fluktuasi Harga Bitcoin Dengan Menggunakan Random Forest Classifier

Chang Chi Hung, Jacky Filbert Wijaya, Victor Victor, Irpan Adiputra Pardosi · 5 authors

Md. Muneeruddin, U. Prashant, T. Bhanu Prakash

Blockchain technologies deliver an endless variety of applications that benefit from distributed economies. The proposed model is an Android application that has enhanced security features, which include both authentication and authorization. Authentication is incorporated by using a unique identification and authorization is done by using a fingerprint. Voters are also being verified by time password. The security in this project is implemented by using a 128-bit AES encryption algorithm and SHA-256 along with the blockchain. The vote is cast in the form of a transaction, where a blockchain is created, which keeps track of the tallies of votes. Through this, atomicity and integrity are maintained This blockchain-based voting system that satisfies the legal requirements of legislators has been a challenge for a long time. Distributed ledger technologies are an exciting technological advancement in the information technology world Blockchain technologies offer an infinite range of applications, benefiting from sharing economies. This project aims to evaluate the application of blockchain as a service to implement distributed electronic voting systems. The project elicits the requirements for building electronic voting systems and identifies the legal and technological limitations of using blockchain as a service for realizing such systems.
