The paper is exploring methodology within the work in progress research by design through teaching project called 'Synergetic Landscapes'. It discusses codesign and cocreation processes that are crossing the academia, NGOs and applied practice within so called 'real life codesign laboratory' (Davidová, Pánek, & Pánková, 2018). This laboratory performs in real time and real life environment. The work investigates synergised bio-digital (living, non-living, physical, analogue, digital and virtual) prototypical interventions in urban environment that are linked to circular economy and life cycles systems running on blockchain. It represents a holistic systemic interactive and performing approach to design processes that involve living, habitational and edible, social and reproductive, circular and token economic systems. Those together are to cogenerate synergetic landscapes.
As the basic necessity of national life, agricultural products have become the basic elements of economic and social development. Because of the complexity and uncertainty of the internal and external environment, the supply chain of agricultural products has various risks, such as vulnerability and instability in the system structure. This paper analyzes the common structural model and risk factors of agricultural product supply chain, discusses the main factors of agricultural product supply chain risk factors, and combines the characteristics of decentralization and information encryption of block chain technology with the governance of each node of agricultural product supply chain. This paper puts forward the optimal analysis of agricultural product supply chain model construction and related node risk management under block chain technology.

At present, the provenance of electronic records is stored centrally. The centralized way of information storage has huge risks. Whether the database itself is destroyed or the communication between the central database and the external interruption occurs, the provenance information of the stored electronic records will not play its role. At the same time, uncertainties such as fires and earthquakes will also pose a potential threat to centralized databases. Moreover, the existing security provenance model is not specifically designed for electronic records. In this paper, a security provenance model of electronic records is constructed based on PREMIS and METS. Firstly, this paper analyses the security requirements of the provenance information of electronic records. Then, based on the characteristics of blockchain decentralization, and combined with coding theory, a distributed secure provenance guarantees technology of electronic records is constructed, which ensures the authenticity, integrity, confidentiality and reliability of the provenance information.

This paper intends to present some ideas for the implementation of cooperative ITS systems based on the Blockchain Technology (BT) concept. Blockchain technology has been recently introduced and, in this paper, we discuss a system that is based on a dedicated blockchain, able to involve both drivers and city administrations in the adoption of promising and innovative technologies that will create cooperation among connected vehicles. The proposed blockchain-based system can allow city administrators to reward drivers when they are willing to share travel data. The system manages in a special way the creation of new coins which are assigned to drivers and institutions participating actively in the system. Moreover, the system allows keeping a complete track of all transactions and interactions between drivers and city management on a completely open and shared platform. The main idea is to combine connected vehicles with BT to promote Cooperative ITS use and a better use of infrastructures.

This study aims to shed light on the way customers determine their utilization of international payment services with blockchain applications. The primary data is collected from the 373 individuals who frequently use the international payment services in Vietnam. We apply the combination of TAM, UTAUT, and ISS models to test the determinants of the Intention to use International payment services at Commercial banks applying Blockchain. These determinants are Quality of System, Quality of Service, Quality of Information, Perceivable usefulness, Convenient usefulness, and Social influence. The research results show that (i) All of the above factors are positively associated with customers' intention to use international payment services in Vietnamese banks which implement blockchain; (ii) The quality of information has the strongest positive impact on the customer's intended use. It refers that the international payment services in banks should be safe, accurate and timely; (iii) Differently from the hypothesis, the social influence indicator is positively related to the customer's intention to use the service, affirming the potential interests of customers on blockchain if applying successfully in banks; (iv) Although current customers have not paid much attention whether banks apply blockchain in international payment or not, they have taken concentration on fundamental risks, costs, and convenience of the services. This signal is consistent with the fact that only 2/46 commercial banks and 49 foreign bank branches in Vietnam provide international payment service with blockchain application nowadays.

New digital technologies are changing the way organizations create and capture value. In particular, blockchain is bringing up opportunities for organizations in terms of transparency and security, and at the same time threatening the position of intermediaries such as banks and notaries. Therefore, intermediaries need to design new business models to generate value from blockchain. Little academic re-search has been conducted to identify the business models that intermediaries could exploit to leverage a disintermediation technology such as blockchain. Employing a qualitative research based on focus group and interviews, this study highlights how a specific intermediary, the Italian notaries, tried to design appropriate business models to derive value from blockchain ecosystems. Specifically, drawing on the key concepts of value configuration, value creation and business model dimensions, this paper identifies three different business models that Italian notaries can implement to create and capture value from permissionless blockchain ecosystems.

As a new FinTech innovation regulation tool, regulatory sandbox effectively balances financial innovation and risk, so it is adopted by many regulatory authorities around the world. However, until now, regulatory sandbox is still at the stage of manually submitting data, and artificial intelligence has not been applied to it. Hence, in this paper, we propose the framework of Parallel FinTech Regulatory Sandbox based on the ACP approach (Artificial systems + Computational experiments + Parallel execution). Then, we talk about how to combine the emerging blockchain technology with intelligent regulatory sandbox, thus solving problems such as poor data flow and regulation sluggish. This paper is aimed at providing helpful guidance and reference for the development of FinTech regulatory sandbox.

eHealth is the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) to enhance health quality access. Health care innovations are an essential element of Vision 2030 and National Transformation Program (NTP) 2020 operational plan that will lead to an improvement in the quality of health care in Saudi Arabia. The objective of this paper is to address the healthcare system limitations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in general and the Qassim region in particular to global standards. In practice, the creation of an infrastructure for storing and seamless sharing of health data between different entities is studied. Furthermore, an in-depth analysis of current practices w.r.t. the health data, as well as finding similarities between NTP 2020 and Health 2020 (European Union) has been performed. A multi-level blockchain eHealth system is proposed to provide seamless electronic health records to the patients. Moreover, the current practices being employed in Qassim province, KSA has been analyzed. It was found that private hospitals give access to medical reports to their patients besides allowing them to manage their appointments. On the other hand, access to the government hospitals' medical records is minimal.

The proliferation of physiological signals acquisition and monitoring system, has led to an explosion in physiological signals data. Additionally, RFID systems, blockchain technologies, and the fog computing mechanisms have significantly increased the availability of physiological signal information through big data research. The driver for the development of hybrid systems is the continuing effort in making health-care services more efficient and sustainable. Implantable medical devices (IMD) are therapeutic devices that are surgically implanted into patients' body to continuously monitor their physiological parameters. Patients treat cardiac arrhythmia due to IMD therapeutic and life-saving benefits. We focus on hybrid systems developed for patient physiological signals for collection, storage protection, and monitoring in critical care and clinical practice. In order to provide medical data privacy protection and medical decision support, the hybrid systems are presented, and RFID, blockchain, and big data technologies are used to analyse physiological signals.
Blockchain system is affected by many factors with the rapid development of technology. In order to study the blockchain system more realistically, the processes of transaction consensus and transaction storage are simulated in this paper, and factors such as interference factors, impatience phenomena of transactions and fault repairable conditions of the system during the service process are considered. Vacation queueing model with negative customers, impatient customers, repairable fault and two-phase service that customers can select sever in the first service is established. Using the matrix-geometric solution method, the expressions of the average confirmation time of transactions and other performance measures are given. The parameters of the system are obtained based on the statistics of the blockchain transaction data. The influence of each parameter on the performance measures of blockchain system is analyzed by using MATLAB software. The equilibrium reception rate is discussed by constructing the revenue function of the system, and equilibrium numerical results are obtained.

Electronic trust services are becoming an integral part of the information space. With the reliable implementation of basic services as an electronic signature and electronic authentication, it is possible to build more complex systems that rely on them, particularly the electronic voting system. In the paper, the new concept for developing a decentralized electronic voting system using blockchain technology is proposed. The two-level architecture provides a secure voting process without redundancy of existing (not based on blockchain) systems. The presented blockchain-based voting protocol has six steps that ensure all requirements that are put forward to such types of protocols including voting transparency and anonymity.

Existing implanted medical devices often do not use any form of authentication due to resource constraints, resulting in unauthorized access or programming of devices. In this paper, we introduce Medical Implant Consent (MedIC), a non-embedded, blockchain-based solution that provides authentication and authorization according to patient consent. We design protocols for doctors to obtain digital medical licenses and for patients to obtain and verify digital patient consent. We evaluate the performance and cost of our solution, using time measurements and memory footprint of relevant operations. We also enumerate our cryptographic operations and compute the energy with benchmarked measurements. Our results demonstrate a memory footprint of 4436 MB and timing delay of 200 ms to authenticate according to our patient’s consent.
Blockchain has a strong capacity to monitor and retain educational records. The paperless future has yet to become a reality, even with the ability to digitally generate documents. Physical copy of records are still regularly printed which makes them susceptible to document fraud. Thus, the issue of fake certificates and academic records has risen drastically. In this paper, we have made a reliable verification method to avoid academic frauds. The idea presented here is developed over Hyperledger. The University or The Educational Institute is responsible for issuing the certificates, mark-sheets, transcripts, etc. and mining it over the blockchain. The student is provided with the hash number which is the reference number. This number serves the reference of the data. The Organization or the Industry Personal using the hash number checks for the integrity of the submitted document. The present study discusses about importance of block chain and it’s applicability especially for the applications like verification of Academic Records.

Since the advent of the microgrid (MG) concept, almost two decades ago, the energy sector has evolved from a centralized operational approach to a distributed generation paradigm challenged by the increasing number of distributed energy resources (DERs) mainly based on renewable energy. This has encouraged new business models and management strategies looking for a balance between energy generation and consumption, and promoting an efficient utilization of energy resources within MGs and minimizing costs for the market participants. In this context, this paper introduces an efficient management strategy, which is aimed at obtaining a fair division of costs billed by the utilities, without relying on a centralized utility or MG aggregator, through the design of a local event-based energy market within the MG. This event-driven MG energy market operates with blockchain (BC) technology based on smart contracts for electricity transactions to both guarantee veracity and immutability of the data and automate the transactions. The event-based energy market approach focuses on two of the design limitations of BC, namely the amount of information to be stored and the computational burden, which are significantly reduced while maintaining a high level of performance. Furthermore, the prosumer data is obtained by using IEC 61850 standard-based commands within the BC framework. By doing so, the system is compatible with any device irrespective of the manufacturer implementing the IEC 61850 standard. The advantages of this management approach are considerable for: MG participants, in terms of financial benefits; the MG itself, as it can operate more independently from the main grid; and the grid since the MG becomes less unpredictable due to the internal energy exchanges. The proposed strategy is validated on an experimental setup employing low-cost devices.

Given the increasing interest in blockchain technology, we present a large-scale cross-disciplinary literature analysis of research on the blockchain using topic modelling with the goal of identifying the major research trends, research methodologies, and fruitful areas for further research. In particular, the analysis focuses on abstracting out research trends from relevant terms and topics related to the research disciplines of Business, Computer Science, Economics, Social Sciences, Engineering, Healthcare, and Law. A total of 2,125 articles published between 2008 to up until early 2019 in academic journals and conferences were analyzed. Results of our analysis reveal that research is bipartite between practical and research domains, with academic research on blockchain not clearly aligning with organizational and social benefits. Also, we found – 1) few inter-disciplinary publications, and 2) a small number of studies that use surveys, experiments, and case studies as their research method. Our findings also reveal that research on Blockchain in the social sciences and law is still in the embryonic stage, thus making it essential to develop more direct research efforts for Blockchain to thrive in all research disciplines.
Blockchain, as an emerging technology, is essentially a shared database in which data or information is stored with features of “unforgeable”, “whole-process traceable”, “transparent” and “collective maintenance”. Based on these characteristics, blockchain technology has a broad prospect of application in the insurance industry because it has laid a solid foundation of “trust”, and created a reliable cooperation mechanism. At present, blockchain technology has been widely used in the fields of transportation, logistics, trade and charity. It has also attracted the attention of banking, insurance and other financial industries. The application of blockchain in other industries has been discussed in many other publications already, but it has not been systematically discussed in the insurance industry. This paper will make people have a deeper understanding of “blockchain + insurance” by introducing the basic concepts and technological advantages of blockchain technology, reviewing the researches and applications of blockchain by the insurance companies, and pointing out several key problems of applying blockchain technology to the insurance industry. Finally, the article will make predictions about the trend of development of applying blockchain technology in the insurance industry.
