Deploying blockchain technology for storing digital diplomas

Abstract

Blockchain is a booming technology. More and more applications are being developed in the field of banking, security, document storage, smart contracts, etc. This article proposes an exploratory research of blockchain technology and of the companies involved in the field. The article also presents an overview of some solutions for storing certificates using blockchain technology. After analyzing these existing applications, the paper proposes an architectural design and working scenario for deploying a system to storing diplomas issued by the University Politehnica of Bucharest using the blockchain technology. Finally, the conclusions and future work are presented.
