Abstract

Blockchain technology has rapidly emerged as a transformative force across various industries, notably through the development of decentralized applications (DApps). Unlike traditional applications, DApps operate on decentralized networks, offering enhanced security, transparency, and resistance to censorship. This paper provides a comprehensive review of the existing literature on blockchainbased DApps. It explores the classification of DApps, their advantages, challenges, and recent advances in the field. Additionally, this review identifies significant research gaps and suggests future directions for addressing the technical, economic, and security challenges hindering the widespread adoption of Dapps
