The Biology of Possession: A Brief Response to Barros

Abstract

In Human Behavior, Evolution, and the Law: The Case of the Biology of Possession, D. Benjamin Barros criticizes my 2004 article, The property ‘instinct’. I disagree with his argument and his characterization of my argument, as well as his conclusions. In this four-paragraph comment, I respond to his argument that prior possession differs from current possession and attempt to clarify my position on two of the points I made in my article.
