Indian Manufacturing Sector: Competitiveness at Stake

Abstract

This paper analyse productivity of manufacturing sector in India. As per Global Competitive Index, India is ranked 71. In spite of India's relative steady growth in last decade, productivity indices remained weak. We investigates factors around 12 pillars of GCI, and broadly internal & external factors to suggest means to improve productivity. We identifies factors which are manageable by the promoters or entrepreneurs to enhance productivity.
