Optimal Licensing Contract

Abstract

We consider a model of licensing with an insider innovator. The innovator has private information about the quality of its technology and has to signal its quality by choosing a licensing contract. The licensing contract that is considered is a two-part tariff. We compare the royalty rates under complete and incomplete information.
