BLOCKCHAIN FOR DIGITAL IDENTITY VERIFICATION
Abstract
As digital interactions proliferate, the need for secure, efficient, and user-controlled identity verification systems has become critical. Traditional identity frameworks are often centralized, vulnerable to breaches, and lack user privacy. Blockchain technology offers a decentralized and tamper-resistant solution to digital identity verification by providing transparency, immutability, and user sovereignty. This paper explores the core principles of blockchain-based identity systems, compares them with traditional models, and analyzes real-world applications across sectors including finance, healthcare, and government. It also addresses challenges such as interoperability, scalability, and regulatory compliance. The study concludes with recommendations for integrating blockchain into future identity ecosystems.
