Will Block Chain be Secured Post-Quantum Computing?
Abstract
The abstract discusses the emergence of quantum computing as a powerful tool for solving complex problems using the principles of quantum mechanics. Quantum algorithms can solve complex problems much faster than traditional computing algorithms. The use of quantum physics concepts such as superposition, interference, and entanglement enable algorithms to solve non-polynomial problems in constant and polynomial time. Blockchain technology is a distributed ledger that records data securely and transparently using public-key cryptography and hashing. Shor’s algorithm, a quantum algorithm, possesses the capability to efficiently determine the prime factors of an integer within polynomial time. This efficiency poses a significant challenge to encryption methods like RSA, which rely on the inherent difficulty of integer factorization that requires extensive computational time.
