Blockchain (BC) on Supply Chain Management (SCM)

Abstract

The purpose of this chapter is to discuss the benefits of blockchain (BC) on supply chain management. A BC is a distributed ledger that records transactions between users in a way that is both permanent and decentralized. BC, at its core, eliminates the need for third-party middlemen in the validation and recording of transactions. Businesses may ensure continued rapid expansion by developing supply networks that can easily adjust to the ever-shifting demands of the market. Our findings underline the importance of digital leadership in explaining the contribution of various BC technology characteristics to trust-building and supply chain flexibility and lend support to the hypothesis that the transparency and security of information provided by BC technology has an impact on both. BC technology is being implemented for the sake of absolute transparency.
