Abstract

Blockchain technology (BCT) is a different innovative technology which has the capability to help in solving several environmental issues which are currently affecting us. Using BCT for addressing environmental problems concentrates on such distribution networks controlling and follow-up, innovation of all economic tools, colleagues’ business of tokenisation value and allowing distributed renewable energy systems (DREs) and common goods or Common Pool Resources. Blockchain is a cutting-edge technology which is adapting infotech and representing a shift of behavioural script. Businesses are trying to be aware of in what way they can possibly utilise from blockchain shared ledger or distributed ledger technology to innovation methods, productions and distributions. In the era of globalisation, environmental sustainability is a key factor for success. This study strives to identify how BCT is adopted and capable of impacting environmental protection. The result reveals that BCT would contribute to environmental sustainability.
