Is Bitcoin a private currency or a financial asset?

Abstract

В статье рассматривается вопрос об особенностях Биткоина как валюты и криптовалюты. Изучены функции криптовалюты, дан ответ на вопрос, можно ли использовать валюту в качестве денег, почему она может или не может быть настоящими деньгами. Проанализирован феномен быстрого роста цены актива Биткоин, выявлены причины проявления особенного интереса к криптовалюте за последние годы. Рассмотрено новое дискуссионное направление о том, можно ли криптовалюту называть новым золотом? The article discusses the features of Bitcoin as a currency and cryptocurrency. The functions of the cryptocurrency are studied, the answer is given to the question whether it is possible to use the currency asmoney, why it can or can not be real money. The phenomenon of the rapid growth of the price of the Bitcoin assetis analyzed, the reasons for the manifestation of special interest in the cryptocurrency in recent years are revealed. A new discussion direction is considered on whether the cryptocurrency can be called the new gold?
