Blockchain Technology for Ensuring the Integrity of Digital Images
Abstract
The widespread use of digital images in various domains has given rise to critical concerns about their authenticity and integrity. As image modification techniques get advance, it is increasingly difficult to guarantee the reliability of digital imagery. To track the source and modifications made to digital images, a distributed and irreversible ledger is provided by blockchain technology, which has emerged as a potential solution to these issues. This review paper investigates how blockchain technology can be used to protect the authenticity of digital imagery. In this paper a general overview of blockchain technology, talk about how it relates to maintaining the integrity of digital images, and examine current blockchain-based techniques for image authentication, origin tracking, and manipulation identification. Furthermore, in-order to maximize the potential of blockchain in protecting the integrity and authenticity of digital shots we outline existing challenges, possible applications, and future directions for research.
