Abstract

Blockchain was the concept originated from Bitcoin technology, gaining attention for decentralizing the global server to the local server. Blockchain technology is now applied in the Internet of Things (IoT), financial, food, smart contracts, healthcare, governance, voting systems, and personal identity security data (birth, death, and marriage certificates, passport, cybersecurity). Most problems in blockchain technology include security and elasticity. This chapter provides an overview of blockchain technology, its architecture, algorithms, and integration with industrial IoT.
