Development of Healthcare Insurance Claim Mechanism using Blockchain Technology
Abstract
Blockchain technology is a decentralized storage technology that allows for secure record sharing via cryptographic algorithms and provides transaction immutability in the distributed network. The distinctive aspect of a blockchain is that it maintains the accuracy and security of each record in the block, generating confidentiality without the requirement for an intermediator. Blockchain innovation has its applications in different fields like monetary trades, government areas, medical care, educational training and casting a ballot. The medical field has become a hotbed of fraud in today's world, particularly in the area of health insurance claims, where most people falsely claim their identities in order to acquire health care services and charge more expensive services. Falsifying a patient's diagnosis in order to justify tests, surgeries, and other procedures. And these fraudulent acts can be solved by using DApps due to the immutable structure of the blockchain, the reality that it is a digitally distributed decentralised storage system (Decentralized Application). Blockchain technology also supports the development of open communication between users and health insurance providers because of its decentralised architecture. This paper works on health insurance network information sharing as the foundation and Ethereum blockchain as the structure, and delves the work process into useful system of the health insurance information sharing framework. Subsequently the blockchain innovation is utilized to guarantee the security of health insurance information, and keeps up with the interoperability of clinical records.
