IoT-Tangle Enhanced Security Systems

Abstract

Security systems are systems or software developed with the sole purpose of security or to secure a particular component. The chapter involves in-depth knowledge about the origin of new technologies like the IoT, cryptography, and Blockchain. The history of security systems or vaults can be studied in Vedic scriptures and the stories of the kings securing their precious belongings and other forms of security system for security of the kingdom. The inter-connectivity of the security systems nowadays and how the systems have evolved in the modern era is the central aspect of this chapter. Modern era security systems revolve around technologies like Blockchain, the IoT, and cryptography, which are high-end security technologies that are currently available on the market. Blockchain is a distributed ledger which enhances decentralization of the system it is applied to. The IoT, Internet of Things, is a network between different sensors and signal receptors that works while connected to the internet. Cryptography, on the other hand, is a security feature that helps us to hash functions cryptographically. The following research discusses a technology known as Tangle, which is an enhanced Blockchain system that self-validates when transacting. When merged with IoT systems, it can work to build a more secure and enhanced system.
