Abstract

Smart contracts can promote corporate sustainability objectives; therefore, this chapter examines their relationship with sustainable business models. This chapter begins with a discussion of sustainable business models and their issues. We then explore smart contracts and their potential for sustainability and discuss their efficiency, transparency, and cost savings in sustainable business models. The chapter will also discuss legal and regulatory issues. The final part of the chapter presents smart contract innovation and cooperation in environmentally friendly business models.
