Studying the Application of Blockchain in Healthcare for Security and Transparent Record-Keeping
Abstract
The incorporation of blockchain technology presents a viable answer as healthcare systems continue to struggle with problems relating to data security, integrity, and openness. This study explores how blockchain technology might be used in the healthcare industry to improve record-keeping security and transparency. With a focus on blockchain’s potential to transform data management and patient care, it examines the benefits and difficulties of utilizing technology in the delicate field of healthcare. Due to some of the industry’s prior difficulties, blockchain technology has developed as a potential solution. A digital shift is now taking place in the healthcare industry. Data can be recorded and stored securely, safely, and transparently using blockchain, a distributed ledger system. The processing, storage and collection of data for Electronic Health Records (EHR) has traditionally depended on centralised processes, which increases the risk of single points of failure and leaves the systems open to numerous external and internal data breaches that jeopardise their availability and dependability. Blockchain technology is being examined as a potential way to address the problems with current database 106techniques and enhance all elements of health records application. A “blockchain,” a new term for a distributed, immutable technology, is a digital events or database of records that are executed, verified, and stored using ledger technology. This prevents record tampering and alteration and provides an immutable architecture.
