Secure Consensus Mechanisms for Blockchained IoT: A Review

Authors:Kenza RechidSomia Sahraoui

Abstract

The inherent security features of distributed ledger technologies can offer a promising solution to enhance the security of IoT systems, addressing their inevitable security concerns. Nonetheless, it is essential to consider potential flaws, particularly those related to consensus mechanisms within these blockchain-based IoT systems, to ensure the overall security and integrity of the network. Any threat at the blockchain level could potentially harm the entire IoT network. This paper investigates the security of the underlying consensus mechanisms within blockchain-based IoT systems. We present a review of securing consensus mechanisms within the Internet of Blockchained Things.
