An Approach for Accessing Patients Records Using Medical Suite Blockchain
Abstract
In the present world, the patient’s data or health reports in the form of electronic medical record (EMR) and electronic health report (EHR) are being stored in the hospitals for global access. This creates problems for the healthcare industry or sectors as they lack data integrity and security. We tried to avoid these major issues by adopting blockchain technology to our proposed technique called Medical Suite that is used for creating a unique collection of records that consists of all the information regarding the one’s medical health history since his/her birth. For providing effective interaction between the hospitals and interoperability between the various organizations, the information in the distributed peer-peer network is stored as encrypted data using statistical methods and algorithms for ensuring reliability, integrity, and security of the data as blockchain provides highly general data protection regulation (GDPR). This chapter deals with ways to enhance the data-sharing application of the health sector and pharmacy built on concepts of hyper ledger fabric and Practical Byzantine Fault Tolerance consensus using hyper ledger fabric. The validation technique of the blocks 74 is done using the path-based fund transfer (PBT) algorithm and security is achieved with the determined permissions to the distributed ledger.
