In the realm of digital currencies like Bitcoin, blockchain functions as a decentralized ledger, documenting every transaction across a distributed network. Its pivotal roles include decentralization, transparency, immutability, consensus mechanisms, security, and mining. Collectively, blockchain technology furnishes the infrastructure that empowers cryptocurrencies, enabling them to function as decentralized, secure, and trustless systems for the transfer of value.
