Abstract

The article is devoted to a new type of electronic money – cryptocurrencies. The history of creation is studied and the analysis of existing formulations of cryptocurrencies in the conditions of digitalization of the economy is carried out. The prerequisites for the emergence of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies were established and the advantages of their use were emphasized.
