The Systematic Review of Blockchain

Abstract

Blockchain has taken the stage with Satoshi Nakomoto’s White Paper titled as “A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System” in 2008. Even though the idea has been developed for establishing a distributed ledger in a network, further developments in blockchain technology demonstrate different research avenues to consider since 2008. In this book chapter, it is aimed to visualize the big picture of blockchain technology for the last decade by considering scientific publications. Bibliomteric analysis approach has been applied for data analysis and visualization has been performed by R programming tools. Different level of research (like author, institution, and country levels) has been performed to understand the level of studies in the World regarding blockchain technology. Finally, possible research trends and the state-of-the-art in the last decade has been presented.
