Cryptocurrency Payment System Model for B2C E-Commerce Platforms Using Blockchain Technology

Abstract

E-commerce platforms depend on payment gateways to provide secure online transactions, but the limited acceptance of cryptocurrencies as a payment method remains a challenge. Scalability issues on blockchain networks such as Bitcoin and Ethereum hinder the execution of micropayments due to high confirmation times and fees. In this paper, we propose a payment system that overcomes these limitations by using a payment gateway that leverages the advantages of the Polygon blockchain network for fast and low-cost transactions. User transaction data is securely managed through the MetaMask digital wallet, allowing for privacy and autonomy. By integrating blockchain technology and digital wallets, the solution seeks to promote broader adoption of cryptocurrencies in e-commerce. The obtained data highlight the benefits that merchants can obtain as a result.
