Research on Trusted Power Transaction Strategy in Virtual Power Plant

Abstract

With the large-scale deployment of renewable energy sources, the power trading system faces dual challenges of trust and efficiency. In this paper, we propose a novel distributed trusted transaction strategy for virtual power plants by using smart contracts on Hyperledger Fabric to provide energy services. A matching mechanism has been defined to realize automatic matching between purchases and sales. Furthermore, transaction records are stored in a blockchain distributed ledger, which will prevent trade disputes in transaction settlements. The Golang programming language is utilized to generate the transaction smart contracts, and a modified IEEE 33-bus distribution system is selected as the case study in order to develop and verify this market framework. The results show that the proposed solution successfully improves the efficiency and safety of power transactions, and benefits both purchases and sales in the virtual power plant.
