AI and Blockchain for Regulatory Compliance: Enhancing Transparency and Efficiency in Governance
Abstract
Regulatory compliance is a critical aspect of governance, yet traditional systems often suffer from inefficiencies, lack of transparency, and high operational costs. Emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and blockchain offer transformative potential to address these challenges. This paper explores the synergistic application of AI and blockchain in regulatory compliance, focusing on their ability to enhance transparency, efficiency, and accountability. AI enables predictive analytics, automated monitoring, and anomaly detection, while blockchain ensures data integrity, immutability, and real-time reporting through distributed ledgers and smart contracts. By integrating these technologies, this study proposes a novel framework for improving compliance processes across sectors such as finance, healthcare, and cross-border trade. The paper also discusses implementation challenges, including scalability, interoperability, and ethical concerns. Ultimately, this research highlights the need for collaborative efforts among regulators, technologists, and policymakers to realize the full potential of AI-blockchain solutions.
