Blockchain and Cryptocurrency Ecosystem
Abstract
This chapter explores the fusion of blockchain technologies and cryptocurrencies within Islamic finance. It examines the ethical dimensions, practical applications, and challenges of integrating these technologies in line with Shari’ah principles. The study aims to enhance financial inclusion, transparency, and eco-friendly operations while proposing regulatory frameworks for sustainable green finance. The study adopts a qualitative research strategy, leaning on a thorough review of existing literature, case studies on Islamic financial institutions, and the examination of Shari’ah-compliant cryptocurrency models. The findings bear considerable implications for policymakers, regulators, and Islamic financial bodies. Financial institutions are encouraged to embrace blockchain technology to heighten the transparency and efficiency of financial transactions and to invest in research and development to uncover innovative uses of these technologies in Islamic finance.
