Challenges and opportunities of Blockchain technology in the energy sector

Abstract

This article analyzes entrepreneurial start-up initiatives that have developed energy solutions based on Block chain and DLT (Distributed Ledger Technologies) and wide-ranging projects. The most innovative cases summarized by a swot analysis were examined. Finally, a concept of a possible application of Block chain technology is presented to manage the flexibility applied to a microgrid from the DSO point of view.
