Blockchain-Based Smart Contracts for Land Title Registry Opportunities and Adaption for fiji

Abstract

The current situation of Land Registration in Fiji is a time-consuming set of procedures that requires liaising with various middlemen and intermediaries where each would have a different hidden cost and numerous delays with documentation. This paper highlights the issues faced by new buyers, such as dealing with fraudulent agents, lack of transparency, accountability, and delays within the entire process. Therefore, we propose a new secure system of transferring land ownership with increased transparency and security using blockchain technology.
