Secure Bitcoin Hardware Wallet Design, Implementation, and Security Analysis
Abstract
This paper presents a Cryptocurrency security presents significant challenges in safeguarding digital assets against evolving threats. This paper introduces a secure, open-source Bitcoin hardware wallet emphasizing affordability, transparency, and user empowerment. Unlike proprietary commercial solutions, the proposed wallet leverages an air-gapped design using the Raspberry Pi Zero to isolate cryptographic operations from network-based vulnerabilities. Integrating a user-friendly LCD interface and QR code capabilities, the wallet ensures intuitive operation and robust security. The paper implements advanced cryptographic techniques for key management, achieving a functional prototype supporting multiple cryptocurrencies. By adopting a transparent, modular design, this research contributes to the broader discourse on decentralized asset security and encourages innovation within the cryptocurrency ecosystem. This wallet demonstrates a paradigm shift in accessible, secure digital asset management and underscores the significance of open-source solutions in the blockchain era.
