Blockchain-Enabled Secure and Efficient Integration of IoT Devices: A Novel Approach for the Internet of Medical Things(IoMT)

Abstract

The research highlights the necessity of innovative blockchain solutions for improving scalability, energy efficiency, security, and speed in IoMT applications. Solana and Polygon, employing advanced consensus mechanisms like Proof of His-tory (PoH) and Delayed Proof of Stake (DPoS), offer superior transaction processing capabilities, reducing network congestion and energy consumption while ensuring data security. The study underscores how these platforms enhance real-time data processing and decision-making in healthcare, providing a more secure and efficient infrastructure for patient care. By comparing traditional blockchain solutions with newer technologies, the research presents a compelling case for adopting Solana and Polygon in IoMT systems. This adoption is poised to revolutionize the IoMT landscape, offering unparalleled scalability, security, and cost-effectiveness, ultimately improving patient care and healthcare outcomes. The findings suggest significant potential for future development in blockchain-enabled IoMT applications.
