NFT-Based Verification of Academic Credentials: Case Study for GSPP Certificate, Graduate School, Kasetsart University
Abstract
The longstanding issue of academic credential forgery and verification delays demands innovative solutions. This research explores the potential of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and Blockchain technology to revolutionize digital certificate management. We developed a secure system that issues and verifies NFTs representing certificates, drawing inspiration from the NFTCert project. Our system uses a decentralized database (IPFS) with Pinata to ensure secure data storage and access. Initial testing demonstrates our system can issue and verify certificates faster and more securely than traditional methods, significantly reducing fraud risks and streamlining verification processes. This research contributes valuable insights into the feasibility and limitations of NFT-based certificate verification, paving the way for a more secure and efficient future of academic credential management.
