Abstract

This research study deals with integrating blockchain technology into web applications. In this paper, it covers decentralized systems and smart contracts. Blockchain puts people in a position to communicate directly with each other; this eliminates the involvement of middlemen but guarantees security, transparency, and tamperproof interactions. This makes blockchain an exciting solution where trust, transparency, and efficiency are paramount. One of the well-known areas in blockchain is the implementation of crypto smart contracts that function on the basis of digital agreements which self-execute once the conditions as set within the smart contract take place. No occurrence of disputes and/or fraud will be plausible since no third party would need to step in to arbitrate or verify. According to the survey, two major areas where blockchain as well as smart contracts are creating a huge impact on two areas of focus, are supply chain management and decentralized finance, also known as DeFi. The very fact that blockchain is used in supply chains grants real-time product traceability from the producer to the consumer. Thereafter, the advance of transparency makes each step verifiable and hence the possibility of fraud is greatly reduced, with concomitantly developed trust. For instance, customers can ensure or know their product's authenticity and find out where it is from, which is increasingly valuable in today's market. In DeFi, blockchain is transforming traditional financial services by enabling access to credit, trading, and other products without banks, particularly benefiting those lacking easy banking access. Users retain full control over their assets through smart contracts that execute based on preset conditions. This paper explores how blockchain and smart contracts can enhance the future of Web applications by improving security, efficiency, and reliability.
