Decentralized Storage

Abstract

This chapter discusses cloud computing and how Web3 technologies are giving rise to decentralized cloud, especially decentralized storage. The chapter is divided into five parts. The first few parts discuss cloud technology along with different types of cloud storage solutions. Then the focus moves to the use of blockchains with the cloud technology. The benefits and limitations of using blockchain technology with the cloud are also discussed. Then decentralized storage is discussed using the examples of IPFS and Filecoin.
