A Mining-Rewarding Mechanism for Peer-to-Peer Energy Trading Blockchain
Abstract
Direct transactions between prosumers without a central authority is allowed by the peer-to-peer energy trading market. Blockchain technology is considered as the optimal system to support P2P transactions and provide the internal payment platform. Miners as a significant role are motivated by the financial incentive to maintain the blockchain operation. This paper proposes a consortium blockchain system under Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus protocol to maintain the security and transparency of the energy transactions and a mining-rewarding mechanism to lower trading cost. The structure of the proposed blockchain as well as its implementation process are discussed in this paper. The results of a case study prove the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed blockchain based method.
