Comprehensive analysis of challenges of non-fungible tokens
Abstract
The market for non-fungible tokens, or NFTs, experienced a boom recently. The idea was first introduced as a token standard for Ethereum, an open-source blockchain with smart contract capabilities. Each token on Ethereum is identified by a unique sign. These tokens can be distinguished from one another thanks to their special digital characteristics. Because of their unique characteristics, NFTs can be exchanged easily and at values that are tailored to their ages, rarity, and liquidity. The decentralized application (dApp) market has grown significantly as a result of NFT trading; the market is experiencing exponential returns, or thousand-fold increases in value. Still, the allied technologies are very new, and the NFT ecosystem is still in its infancy. We consider NFT networks from several angles in this research. Modern NFT solutions are first briefly discussed, followed by a description of their technical elements, protocols, and standards. We then provide an evolution of security and talk about the challenges that lie ahead.
