Abstract

Navigating the intersection of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) and Self-Sovereign AI (SSAI) within blockchain-based Metaverse projects poses multifaceted challenges and risks. The unique digital assets represented by NFTs face issues such as copyright infringement, legal uncertainties, and environmental concerns due to energy-intensive blockchain networks. Ensuring the interoperability and standardization of NFTs across diverse metaverse platforms is a significant hurdle. On the other hand, SSAI introduces complexities related to privacy, security, and ethical considerations. Maintaining user control over personal AI data without compromising security remains a formidable challenge. Additionally, integrating SSAI into Metaverse environments raises concerns about biased algorithms, accountability, and potential misuse. This paper examines the challenges and opportunities NFTs and SSAI provide in Metaverse projects. We discuss how successful implementations require collaborative efforts from stakeholders to establish ethical frameworks, legal guidelines, and sustainable practices for the evolving intersection of NFTs and SSAI.
