Abstract

In the era of rapid digital transformation, the financial services sector is being redefined by the integration of Decentralized Finance (DeFi) and Blockchain Technology. These technologies promise to enhance transparency, security, and operational efficiency within financial systems, aligning with the global push towards innovative and sustainable financial solutions. This study investigates the transformative potential of DeFi and Blockchain Technology within traditional financial institutions, focusing on how these technologies can overcome existing inefficiencies and provide new opportunities for growth. Employing Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) using Smart- PLS, the research evaluates the impact of Blockchain's core attributes such as immutability, decentralization, and automation via smart contracts on the adoption of DeFi. The results demonstrate a significant positive relationship between the perceived advantages of Blockchain and the readiness of financial institutions to implement DeFi solutions. Additionally, this study discusses the critical challenges, including regulatory hurdles and the need for technological scalability, which must be addressed to enable broader adoption. The findings contribute to the discourse on the future of financial services, offering actionable insights for industry practitioners and policymakers seeking to harness the power of DeFi and Blockchain for sustainable economic development.
